Job Title: Marketing Automation Specialist

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Your place in our story

The Marketing Automation Specialist supports the execution of Minto's Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) initiatives across Developments and Investments lines of business. This role assists with lead management, customer journey execution, and campaign performance optimization to drive engagement and conversion outcomes. Working closely with regional marketing teams, the Specialist implements personalized nurture programs, supports audience segmentation, and provides insights into campaign performance. The role is key to maintaining data quality, supporting marketing automation processes, and ensuring campaigns are effectively executed and measured. As a subject matter expert in marketing automation, the Specialist supports the ongoing evolution of the platform by contributing to enhancements, advancing capabilities, and ensuring effective adoption of tools and processes to improve marketing effectiveness and customer experience.

Here's how you'll contribute
  • Support the design and execution of marketing automation strategies, translating business goals into effective, data-driven customer journey frameworks
  • Design, build, and optimize personalized, behaviour-based nurture journeys within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, leveraging user engagement, actions, and preferences to drive engagement and conversion
  • Develop and implement audience segmentation strategies to enable targeted, personalized experiences and improve campaign performance across the customer lifecycle
  • Partner with regional marketing teams to define and benchmark KPIs, assess nurture program performance, and support ongoing campaign tracking, reporting and results by identifying insights and opportunities for improvement
  • Support alignment between digital advertising campaigns and Salesforce Marketing Cloud journeys to ensure consistent targeting, messaging, and full-funnel performance
  • Maintain and support governance of marketing data structures within Salesforce (e.g. UTM tracking standards and documentation)
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of marketing automation platforms, ensuring seamless operation with other marketing and sales systems
  • Act as a subject matter expert on marketing automation, training and supporting business team members on tools, best practices, and campaign execution
  • Support marketing data cleanup and integrity initiatives
  • Support monitoring of email deliverability performance, including contributing to quarterly reviews of volume, IP health, and sender reputation
  • Maintain and help evolve key marketing automation operational programs within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including privacy compliance, lead source tracking, and other core data and process governance frameworks
  • Support the ongoing evolution of Marketing Cloud capabilities by helping implement and optimize existing tools and features
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regional marketing, sales, leasing and IT to ensure alignment and adoption of best practices
  • Adhere to and support governance of accessibility (AODA/ADA) and privacy laws (such as CASL, CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role, as requested by management

  • University Degree or College Diploma (Business, Marketing, or related field)
  • 4-5+ years in marketing automation, CRM, or lifecycle marketing roles
  • Certifications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Salesforce Platform
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as Salesforce Data Cloud
  • Proficiency with AMPscript for dynamic content, personalization, and advanced email logic
  • Knowledge of privacy, consent management, and regulatory requirements (CASL, GDPR, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Email Studio, Contact Builder)
  • Strong SQL skills for segmentation, automation activities, and data manipulation within Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Experience using Automation Studio, including building and managing automations (queries, imports, scheduled activities)
  • Ability to design and manage data extensions, including relational data modeling and contact data architecture
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template editing, troubleshooting, and responsive design
  • Experience with advanced Mobile Studio features, such as SMS personalization, keyword management, or cross-channel orchestration
  • Strong experience in lead management, nurture strategies, and lifecycle marketing
  • Proven ability to design and execute personalized, data-driven customer journeys
  • Strong understanding of campaign measurement, funnel optimization, and attribution models
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM and data integrations (e.g., Data Cloud, external data sources)
  • Strong understanding of campaign data governance, including UTM tracking and campaign taxonomy
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional and regional teams and influence stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into plain language


Hiring pay range rate: 85,000 - 95,000
