Market Development Manager - Industrial, Water, Wastewater will lead the growth of the industrial thermoplastics market across Canada by driving market strategy, enabling sales excellence, developing customer relationships, and pursuing new business opportunities within water and wastewater industries. This role serves as a trusted technical advisor to customers, engineers, distributors, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and internal stakeholders.
This is a
remote position based out of the Ipex location in
Mississauga, ON. Attendance at occasional on-site meetings in Mississauga and at the Ipex office in Oakville, ON, will be expected.
The compensation for this position is between
$105,500 and $131,900 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for participation in the annual short-term incentive bonus program, company-matched RRSP, and an extensive health and wellness medical benefits program.
Key Responsibilities - Drive industrial market growth through strategy execution, market development, and customer engagement.
- Provide technical product training and guidance to engineers, contractors, distributors, sales teams, and industry stakeholders.
- Manage key industrial accounts and support the sales force in identifying and closing opportunities.
- Assess new applications, market opportunities, pricing, barriers to entry, and business potential.
- Pursue corporate approvals, specifications, and adoption of thermoplastic solutions.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Legal, Marketing, Innovation, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Operations.
- Represent the organization at industry events, customer meetings, and training sessions.
Qualifications - University degree in Business, Management, or related field
- Bachelor of Engineering Science, EIT, P.Eng., or Trade Plumber certification is strongly preferred
- Experience with design plans, construction processes, codes, standards, and industrial product applications
- 5-10 years of industrial sales, business development, or technical support experience.
- Knowledge of industrial thermoplastic products and applications.
- Experience analyzing markets, developing business plans, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Ability to deliver technical presentations and training programs.
- Knowledge of specifications, approvals, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Engineering, plumbing, construction, or industrial manufacturing industry experience.
Working Conditions & Travel - Dynamic environment with changing priorities, deadlines, and customer demands.
- Frequent travel by automobile and air, including jobsite visits
- .Approximately 80 overnight travel days per year.
