Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Systems & Configuration Specialist to own configuration alignment for Power engines (Aero and Aeroderivative) on the turbine portion of the new engine program based on the CFM56-5B.

This role is the key liaison between the Power engineering configuration team and Montreal-based teams, ensuring BOM management and system setup (QTM) are properly aligned. The Specialist will also liaise with IT & Integration teams to optimize BOM structure within production engine work orders and master routers, and will align build sheets to system structure to enable efficient, consistent operations as the program ramps up.

Responsibilities:

  • Own Power engines configuration alignment (Aero & Aeroderivative) for the turbine portion
  • Liaise between the Power engineering configuration team and Montreal-based teams to ensure proper BOM management and system setup (QTM)
  • Liaise with IT & Integration teams to ensure BOM structure optimization within production engine work orders and master routers
  • Align build sheets to system structure for efficient and consistent operations
  • Identify gaps between current configuration setup and manufacturing program requirements, and drive corrective actions
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure configuration data (BOMs, routings, part structures) accurately reflects build and kitting needs
  • Support IT & Integration priorities by translating operational and shop-floor requirements into clear system specifications
  • Monitor system and data integrity through ramp-up, proactively flagging risks to production readiness


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or systems/configuration roles in a regulated environment
    • Working with ERP/MRP/PLM systems (e.g. SAP, Dynamics NAV, or equivalent), including part structure management
  • Comfortable working as a liaison across Program, Engineering, IT & Integration, and Montreal-based operations teams
  • Strong practical understanding of:
    • BOM structures, work order/master router setup, and manufacturing system configuration
    • Engine or complex product assembly environments (MRO or manufacturing)
  • Genuine interest in and comfort with IT and AI tools, with an appetite for applying them to improve system structure and data visibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Language Requirements in Quebec:

Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec.
