Full Job Description
THE WORK

Performs the Make, Buy and / or Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions.

Responsibilities include:
• Performs one or more multiple manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions.
• Maintains production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost.
• Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts, analyzes and controls production schedule and capacity requirements, executes the plan, provides timely status and expedites or works around plans to preserve schedule.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain Stakeholders including Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and executes processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements.
• Maintains MRP parameters including lead times and lot sizes and coordinates with Engineering and Change Board Rep to make the associated changes to the BOM.

You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong command of ERP systems and a proven ability to optimize complex material flows. You possess the analytical mindset needed to resolve systemic inefficiencies and collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams.

A level 2 employee is an early-career professional and typically has 2+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Associate's degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. 2-4 years of experience in digital organization, production planning, shop-floor control, scheduling, program planning or logistics.
  3. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and the ability to create/maintain master production schedules.
  4. Strong analytical skills - capable of interpreting production data, parts logistics, inventory control,
  5. Working knowledge of Lean/continuous-improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value-Stream Mapping) identifying bottlenecks and recommending process improvements.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication, enabling clear coordination with engineering, procurement, quality, and shop-floor personnel.
  7. Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic macro creation for reporting and data analysis.
  8. Understanding of inventory control concepts such as safety stock, reorder points, stock locations and material traceability.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  10. Team-oriented mindset with a proven track record of collaborating across functional groups to achieve production goals.

Desired Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with data-visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik) to create real-time production dashboards and trend analyses.
  • Experience in understanding multi-layer ERP/MRP workflows (e.g., SAP Business Workflow) to streamline order release and material allocation.
  • Strong SQL/database querying skills for extracting, joining, and analyzing large production datasets directly from relational or cloud-based databases.
  • Ability to develop automated reporting solutions (Excel VBA/macros, Python scripts, or PowerShell) that reduce manual data-entry and ensure consistency across shift handovers.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking methodology: use of root-cause analysis (5 Whys, Fault-Tree Analysis) and decision-matrix frameworks to evaluate competing production scenarios.
  • Proven track record of continuous-improvement project leadership, employing Lean, Six-Sigma, or Theory of Constraints to identify and resolve systemic inefficiencies.
  • Competence in collaborative digital workspaces (Microsoft Teams/SharePoint, Confluence, or Jira) for real-time documentation, version control, and cross-functional issue tracking.
  • Ability to translate complex operational data into actionable insights for senior management, supporting strategic planning and risk mitigation.
  • Strong adaptability to emerging technologies


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $67400.00 - $125200.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
