Full Job Description

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading day‑to‑day manufacturing operations at a single plant in support of the Plant Manager. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high‑quality production through effective leadership of production teams, deployment of standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with plant and business objectives. The Manufacturing Manager plays a critical role in driving safety, quality, productivity, cost performance, and workforce engagement at the site level.

Key Focus Areas
  • Leads daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are met
  • Directly manages production leadership (e.g., Production Managers, Supervisors) and provides coaching, development, and performance management
  • Partners with the Plant Manager to execute site operating plans, production schedules, and labor plans
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, material utilization, and cost reduction
  • Ensures compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and HSE to improve reliability, throughput, and process stability
  • Monitors and analyzes manufacturing KPIs; develops corrective actions to address performance gaps
  • Supports labor relations activities, including working in both union and non‑union environments as applicable
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives and promotes a positive, accountable site culture
  • Other duties as assigned and directed

Foundational Experience

Required Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing experience in a lead position
  • Prior experience leading production teams in an industrial environment
  • Experience working in ERP‑driven operations
  • Experience leading in unionized manufacturing environments

Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Metals, coating or roll forming experience
  • Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with continuous lines

  • Strong manufacturing and operational leadership capability
  • Proven ability to drive safe, stable, and efficient operations
  • Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
  • Ability to analyze performance data and translate into action

Work Environment

The employee may be required to enter areas that are near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, and extreme cold or heat. The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate and may require the use of hearing protection. The employee will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing certain manufacturing areas. 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; bend; stoop; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance. The employee will be required to be capable of lifting a minimum weight of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close-up and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
