Full Job Description
Scope of the Job

Responsible for providing engineering leadership with regards to manufacturing processes and methods in order to maintain quality standards and production throughput while being mindful of manufacturing cost. This position will coordinate projects, provide direction and report results of the work assigned to engineering staff and support groups. $79,280-132,840

Essential Responsibilities
  • Directing all work activities of a professional engineering workforce, establishing goals, monitoring results, and taking actions as necessary
  • Working closely with other areas such as engineering, manufacturing & assembly operations, marketing, sales, supply chain, human resources, training and payroll
  • Responsible for the daily management of engineering functions including:
  • Department staffing and training
  • Manufacturing & Assembly problem solving
  • Production Planning
  • Quality Control
  • Inventory Control
  • Scrap Reduction
  • Process Improvement
  • Workflow Management
  • Personnel attendance
  • Project management
  • Supporting product development initiatives including ESL, EPL and PPL activities as needed
  • Provide technical resources for capital planning and CEP development
  • Ensuring effective employee relations; providing employee coaching and development; making employment decisions; resolving employee issues through problem resolution
  • Balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; working to continuously improve in all areas
  • Managing departmental performance measures, including visual controls and providing regular progress reports to process line manager
  • Participating in and providing training and development
  • Assist in maintaining and controlling departmental budget

Education and Experience
  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent,
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Product/Process Development role with a demonstrated track record

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook), generic CAD, and Visual Basic
  • Competent in firearm design with specific knowledge of machining, MIM, PIM, and stamping capabilities
  • Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities
  • Strong relations management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player dynamic creative with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understand and utilize Lean concepts for manufacturing & assembly operations


Physical Demands
  • Works in an office environment.
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor

The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
