Manufacturing Engineer - Addison, IL

Job Purpose

Plans, develops, implements and maintains manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. The Manufacturing Engineer monitors processes and methods to evaluate material, equipment, and personnel effectiveness in producing quality products at minimum costs. This position also acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products to the production floor and develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company assets.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with project engineers on tool design and potential needs for fixtures or methods required to bring the manufacturing process to production
  • Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for measurement and improvement of the manufacturing operation. (ie. process work instructions, data collection systems etc....)
  • Directly supports production
  • Develop, implement and document standard work to support the ergonomic activities within the plant
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on project activities
  • Lead or actively participate in cross-functional teams to ensure New Product Introduction projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Lead and/or support improvement initiatives within the facility
  • Ensure all process development documents are completed in accordance with the Quality Management system to support a smooth transition to production
  • Validate equipment
  • Troubleshooting processes and equipment
  • Ability to travel on short notice
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, engineering preferred

  • Problem solving skills such as Lean or Six Sigma preferred
  • Able to work within deadlines and without direct supervision
