Full Job Description
The Fabrication Product Engineer acts as the technical bridge between our customers and the production floor. You will be responsible for translating complex customer requirements into actionable manufacturing data within our ERP and PLM systems. This role requires a deep technical understanding of sheet metal transformation and a meticulous approach to data integrity and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Documentation: Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and Production Routings within the ERP system to ensure seamless manufacturing execution.
Data Management: Upload and manage technical specifications, drawings, and customer documentation using Agile PLM.
Technical Transformation: Apply expert knowledge of sheet metal processes-including CNC punching, press brake bending, welding (TIG/MIG/Spot), industrial painting/powder coating, and final mechanical assembly-to define optimized production paths.
Customer Integration: Review customer design files and engineering change orders (ECOs) to ensure all specifications are achievable and properly documented.
Environmental Compliance: Take full ownership of REACH and RoHS certifications, ensuring all materials and components meet global environmental and regulatory standards.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the production team to refine routings and processes to improve yield and reduce cycle times.
Required Technical Skills
Sheet Metal Expertise: Practical understanding of metal deformation, bend deductions, and the sequencing of punching and welding operations.
System Proficiency: Advanced experience with Agile PLM and standard ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with environmental compliance tracking (REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals).
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and 3D CAD models.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical experience).
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a fabrication or electromechanical assembly environment.
Detail Orientation: High precision in data entry and documentation management.
Communication: Ability to explain technical constraints to both customers and shop-floor operators.
