Qualifications

We are looking for world class manufacturing engineers to apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing & production processes for the efficient/economical production of aerospace products. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Shifts:
  • B | Monday - Thursday (2:30pm-1:00am)
  • C | Friday - Sunday (6am-6:30pm)


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Translating engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions
  • Identifying tools and equipment required for manufacturing flight hardware
  • Providing shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor
  • Non-conformance report (NCR) generation, management, & closure
  • Supporting introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 3+ years (Level II), 5+ years (Level III) of experience in areas of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing or similar. Hands on experience with Machining (3-6 Axis Mill, VTL or HTL, EDM, Waterjet processes), Chemical and Heat Treatment post processing of components.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands on experience with building flight hardware, Machining (3-6 Axis Mill, VTL or HTL, EDM, Waterjet processes), Chemical and Heat Treatment post processing of components.
  • 4+ year experience in an engineering capacity, including internships
  • Experience with design, development or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Creo or CATIA V5)
  • Customer focused with a proven track record to work cooperatively with teams of different skills across large geographic distances.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
