The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with engineering, production, purchasing, quality, and program teams to execute manufacturing operations, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement process improvements. Manufacturing Engineer improves product development by ensuring designs are manufacturable and supportable throughout the product lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions- Improve product designs, implementation, and manufacturing processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, product quality, and production performance.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and support production requirements and constraints.
- Provide technical support to production personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and maintain product quality standards.
- Investigate operational challenges, including material variances, production bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that reduce costs, improve quality, and increase productivity.
- Apply lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies to manufacturing operations.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, build plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate tooling, fabrication methods, assembly processes, and production equipment requirements.
- Review product designs for manufacturability, completeness, and compliance with production requirements.
- Support estimating, purchasing, and project teams in developing material requirements, manufacturing plans, and production schedules.
- Provide technical input in support of proposals, bids, and customer requirements.
- Assist with manufacturing cost analysis, material selection, and production planning activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Specifications- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, assembly, automation, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
- AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions using experience, data, and engineering judgment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not require the supervision of direct reports.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in professional office, workshop, production facility, and field environments which can include working near moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet or humid conditions, and extreme cold and heat. We operate inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, hand tools, site equipment and vehicles, and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. may occur.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, with weekends and extended hours as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends is required based on business needs.
TravelOccasional travel may be required.
Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering
- 5+ years' experience in an engineering role, including:
- Experience in product design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and maintenance
- Experience in role as lead engineer of a project or product line
Work Authorization / Security Clearance- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
- Must possess a valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
