Manufacturing Engineer (CTD, Brazing, Scrap & Lean Focus)

This position plays a key role in improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across manufacturing operations, with a particular focus on chemical treatment processes, brazing operations, scrap reduction, and Lean initiatives.

What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer at DEMA, you will develop, improve, and sustain manufacturing processes that support operational excellence and long-term growth. Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods
  • Analyze scrap, rework, downtime, and process variation to identify and implement corrective actions
  • Lead Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and operational performance
  • Support brazing operations and chemical treatment (CTD) processes
  • Improve process capability, standard work, and process controls using data and performance metrics
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, process flows, and time studies
  • Support prototype builds, new product introduction, and production line development
  • Partner with Quality, Operations, Engineering, EHS, and external vendors to improve manufacturing outcomes
  • Support environmental, safety, chemical handling, and wastewater compliance initiatives
  • Train production employees on equipment, processes, and standard work
  • Drive measurable improvements in scrap reduction, throughput, safety, and productivity

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a collaborative and solutions-oriented engineer who combines technical expertise with strong communication and continuous improvement skills. Qualified candidates will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of brazing, welding, chemical treatment, assembly, or related manufacturing processes
  • Experience with process controls, SPC, standard work, and process capability improvement
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • CAD experience with SolidWorks, DraftSight, or similar software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions
  • Experience supporting safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Strong project management, communication, and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365; advanced Excel skills preferred

Lean or Six Sigma certification, along with experience in CNC machining, additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, is a plus.
