REI seeks an energetic and self-motivated
Manufacturing Engineer 3 with strong analytical skills and an "outside-the-box" problem-solver to support our
Production Technology team! In this vital role as a
Manufacturing Engineer 3, you will support continuous process improvement initiatives and perform engineering assignments to develop, test, implement, and document manufacturing processes and methods required in manufacturing new and existing parts and/or products in accordance with product specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards, while also ensuring compliance to all required governmental laws and Environmental, Health and Safety standards.
If you thrive working in a fast-paced, challenging, and cross-functional manufacturing environment and you are hands-on and have the ability to follow-up on assignments/ tasks, successful at producing processes and procedures for manufacturing methods, productivity improvements, achieving quality with cost-effective methods and reducing the impact of production on the environment then come join
REI's Production Technology team! The Manufacturing Engineer will:- Develops, tests, implements, documents, and continuously improves manufacturing processes for new and existing products through engineering trials, production data analysis, automation, robotics, and process-monitoring technologies to enhance quality, efficiency, throughput, and cost performance.
- Leads Lean/Six Sigma continuous-improvement projects; applies structured methodologies (Kaizen, value-stream mapping, DMAIC) to drive measurable quality and productivity gains.
- Troubleshoots manufacturing and process-related issues, conducts root cause investigations, and implements corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance and ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and maintains manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, procedures, reports, presentations, and training materials; trains production personnel and leadership on new processes and best practices.
- Collaborates with design engineering on DFM reviews to ensure new products can be produced reliably and cost-effectively.
- Specifies, validates, and commissions new manufacturing equipment and tooling for assigned processes.
- May design moderately complex to complex jigs and fixtures used in small to large production projects.
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments.
- May orient, train, assign and check the work of other employees and may be designated as "lead."
- Daily interaction with other manufacturing engineering staff, engineering management, production workers and production management regarding the developing, testing, and implementing of manufacturing processes. May represent the functional area on task forces, requiring the need to gain cooperation and influence others.
