Full Job Description
The Manufacturing Director must comply with all plant GMP, SQF Quality and Safety, Food Safety and Bio-Security procedures and ensure that their department has a food safety culture that is developed, maintained, and monitored.

The Director of Manufacturing at Biery Cheese Co., is located on-site in Louisville, OH. The Director of Manufacturing will oversee and manage all aspects of manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maximizing productivity, and implementing efficient manufacturing operations management strategies. This role also involves fostering continuous improvement processes and ensuring the highest quality standards in production.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Champion programs that promote strong employee relations across the organization.
• Design and implement manufacturing strategies that align with company objectives and optimize operational performance.
• Define, monitor, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
• Generate comprehensive reports for operational insights and executive decision-making.
• Lead planning, maintenance, and process efficiency initiatives across facilities.
• Drive operational improvements that reduce losses and support long-term growth.
• Build and manage external relationships and represent the company in outreach efforts.
• Assess and approve budget allocations and staffing plans to ensure resource optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to proactively mitigate production risks and delays.
• Supervise and coach production and maintenance teams, promoting high standards of accountability and performance.
• Ensure adherence to organizational, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead or participate in improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and achieve strategic goals.
• Reinforce food safety standards by ensuring staff are empowered to report concerns directly to management.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 8+ years in manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated direct knowledge of Food Industry GMP regulations/requirements for facilities, and utilities within manufacturing, a plus
• Minimum 4 years of increasing responsibility in managing and leading a team
• Prior experience developing and maintaining a budget
• The ability to build teams where employees have a shared purpose and vision; demonstrated experience building unity between sites and/or functions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.
