Manufacturing Chief of Staff - Millennium Space Systems

Job Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, the Manufacturing, Chief of Staff will be responsible of supporting Millennium Space Systems Manufacturing Team with an emphasis on staff analysis, planning, technical partner, and organizational improvements. This role will identify Manufacturing staffing needs through proven forecasting methodologies, support hiring managers with crafting and defining role requirements, & develop efficient hiring processes and hiring processes and bring the best talent to Millennium Space Systems.

The Chief of Staff will influence Manufacturing efficiency by implementing new systems and strategies across the organization and supporting meeting planning and execution. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a high performing Manufacturing team and have a direct impact on the success of our organization.

The Chief of Staff will support manufacturing operations and acts as the primary strategic and technical partner to the VP of Manufacturing. This is a high-impact hybrid role designed for a leader who can navigate both the boardroom and the factory floor. You will drive operational excellence by applying lean manufacturing principles to eliminate production bottlenecks and provide technical solutions to complex manufacturing challenges. Simultaneously, you will serve as a strategic proxy for the VP of Manufacturing in key meetings and lead the development of critical staffing plans and hiring processes to scale our workforce.

This position's internal job code is Business Operations Specialist. Our team is currently hiring for a levels 4-5.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and integration of programs, plans, strategies and processes to meet business goals for authorization, such as sourcing strategy for commitment of work, cost imperatives, deployment analysis and impact mitigation
  • Support the coordination and clarify the analysis with business partners to validate results and determine scope to meet long range business goals and develop business case
  • Coordinate the commitments with internal and external organizations to fulfill strategies
  • Identify risk and opportunity potential, develop mitigation planning and refine the business case; meet with leadership to gain approval
  • Provide implementation direction for work authorization
  • Collect, organize and provide data according to established processes within the management system to maintain status of programs, customer and supplier commitments and compliance
  • Ensure follow up action for issue resolution
  • Provide coaching and guidance to entry level personnel

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.)
  • Experience in a role directly interfacing and supporting enterprise level leadership developing and leading projects and/or presentations
  • Experience leading complex hiring initiatives, staffing forecasting, and/or organizational planning, including 2+ years in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting to support strategic decision making
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Provide Technical Support to our manufacturing teams that may include lean manufacturing principles
  • Provide technical solutions to complex manufacturing challenges
  • Aerospace industry experience, preferably with spacecraft systems
  • 8+ years of experience with execution of large-scale projects and events at the enterprise level
  • 8+ years of experience leading cross-functional and/or project teams

Summary pay range:

  • Level 4: $126,650 - $186,250

  • Level 5: $156,400 - $230,000

Millennium is DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant Company. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
