Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

Utilizing our Manufacturing Management Development Program (MMDP), the candidate will be trained to become an Assistant Plant Manager. This position is in line with the Company Succession Planning and will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Plant Manager in overseeing/managing all aspects of plant operations while ensuring that safety, quality, cost, and productivity goals are achieved.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

  • Assist the Assistant Plant Manager in all plant management functions.
  • Collaborate with the plant management to set strategic goals and vision for the plant, as well as short-term and long-term production goals.
  • Oversee and manage plant operations in the absence of the Assistant Plant Manager
  • Ensure a safe working environment through effective safety training and safety inspections.
  • Assist the Production Department to ensure that product quality specifications and established manufacturing metrics are met.
  • Assist supervision of the Production Department Team Leaders and Shipping Department associates.
  • Assist the management of the Quality Assurance Program including response to internal and external quality issues, day-to-day oversight of raw materials, and finished product quality and testing.
  • Ensure that product certifications (UL, FM, etc.) requirements are met for all applicable products.
  • Facilitator for implementation of process control systems
  • Support budgeted raw material usage and reporting accuracy requirements.
  • Serve on special projects/assignments as may be required by management.
  • Motivate plant associates in a manner that effectively promotes the ONE TEAM culture, the safety value, a positive attitude, teamwork, a great place to work, and high level of performance for all the objectives.
  • Support the coaching, mentoring and training of all plant associates to maintain safety, product quality, and maximize productivity.
  • Assist the HR Managers in attracting, selecting, hiring, training, empowering, and retaining new talent
  • Support the evaluation of the plant performance against production goals and support adjustment of resources (e.g., associates, equipment, materials) as needed to optimize safety, quality, and cost-efficiency of operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Positive attitude with a strong willingness to be part of the solution process.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct manufacturing management experience / Supervision Leadership - preferably in cement products, building materials or similar hard goods.
  • Experience as a production manager or equivalent in a continuous manufacturing process a plus.
  • Proven ability to build successful work teams, lead, motivate and develop great people.
  • Proven "Hands-on" style of management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven record of successful supervision and leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply MS Excel and other analysis tools (SAP experience a plus) to real-world problem solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team to generate results with guidance from management.
  • Ability to perform basic job functions/duties on the production floor.


Competitive Salary, with a general salary range of $96,336.00 to $120,420.00, or higher depending on education and experience.
