Summary

Guidepost Solutions is seeking an experienced Managing Director to join its Complex Matters practice. This leadership role requires demonstrated experience working with technology or technology-adjacent companies, including leading forensic and technical engagements and advising technology-focused clients with confidence. The Managing Director is responsible for managing high-profile client engagements involving investigations, regulatory compliance, risk management, integrity assessments, monitoring engagements, crisis matters, and other sensitive business challenges.

The Managing Director serves as a trusted advisor to clients, leads multidisciplinary project teams, oversees the delivery of high-quality work product, and contributes to the continued growth of the practice through business development and client relationship management. The successful candidate must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and a demonstrated record of leading complex engagements across a variety of industries and jurisdictions.

Core Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Engagement Management
  • Lead and oversee complex client engagements from inception through completion
  • Serve as the primary client relationship manager on assigned matters
  • Develop engagement strategies, project plans, budgets, and staffing models
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to executive-level client stakeholders
  • Present findings, risk assessments, investigative conclusions, and compliance recommendations to boards, senior management teams, legal counsel, and regulators
  • Ensure engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Guidepost quality standards

Investigations, Compliance & Risk Advisory
  • Lead investigations involving allegations of misconduct, fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, regulatory concerns, and other sensitive matters
  • Conduct and oversee compliance reviews, integrity assessments, risk assessments, and monitoring engagements
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance programs, internal controls, governance practices, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Evaluate organizational policies, procedures, and controls and recommend practical improvements
  • Support matters involving litigation, regulatory inquiries, government investigations, monitorships, and other high-stakes business concerns
  • Experience conducting and overseeing cyber and technical investigations is a plus
  • Prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and client deliverables

Business Development & Practice Growth
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and generate new business
  • Lead proposal development, pitch presentations, and client pursuits
  • Represent Guidepost at industry conferences, professional associations, and networking events
  • Contribute to the development of new service offerings and practice initiatives

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Juris Doctor, Master's degree, CPA, CFE, CAMS, CCEP, CIPP, or other relevant professional credential preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in investigations, compliance, consulting, law, risk management, regulatory matters, or related professional services
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, sensitive, and high-profile client engagements
  • Strong business development experience with a proven ability to generate and expand client relationships

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with days and hours of work generally Monday through Friday. This position may require long hours and weekend work.

Travel

Travel to client sites, business development meetings, and industry events as needed.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, much of the work may be performed while sitting at a desk, using a computer, typing, handling calls and using standard office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
