Full Job Description
The opportunity

Reporting to Jean-Michel Filiatrault, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, you will lead GardaWorld's full M&A agenda, including the negotiation and execution of approximately 5 to 15 local and international transactions each year, as well as related financing activities. You will combine strategic judgment, transaction discipline and an ownership mindset to move opportunities from initial evaluation through closing, integration and value realization.

What you will lead as the Managing Director, Corporate Development

  • Define and advance the M&A strategy in alignment with corporate priorities and long-term shareholder value creation.
  • Build a high-quality pipeline by sourcing, evaluating and prioritizing acquisitions, divestitures and strategic investments.
  • Lead, develop and grow a team of 6 to 9 professionals across analyst, associate, director and vice-president levels, including the recruitment and onboarding of exceptional talent.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity and relevant regulatory developments to inform strategic choices.
  • Oversee financial models, valuations and investment cases that enable rigorous, timely decisions.
  • Direct due diligence across financial, legal, tax, operational and commercial workstreams, aligning internal leaders and external advisors.
  • Structure and negotiate transaction terms, including letters of intent, purchase agreements and definitive documentation.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with investment banks, brokers, private equity firms, founders, executives and industry contacts to strengthen the deal pipeline.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to plan post-merger integration and deliver expected value and synergies.
  • Prepare clear, decision-ready M&A materials for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.


What makes a successful Managing Director, Corporate Development

  • 15+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity or corporate development, with deep expertise in M&A, due diligence, transaction advisory, negotiation and valuation.
  • A demonstrated record of leading and closing complex transactions from origination through execution.
  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities, paired with sound business judgment.
  • Executive-level communication, stakeholder leadership and negotiation skills.
