Full Job Description
POSITION SCOPE

GA Group has launched a comprehensive platform to serve clients through its "Core 4" Financial Advisory offerings: Valuation, Transaction Opinions, CFO Advisory, and Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), and is seeking an entrepreneurial, market-facing Managing Director to lead, build, and scale the firm's Transaction Advisory Services practice in a designated geographic market. This senior leadership role will have primary responsibility for establishing and executing the local practice's growth strategy; originating and delivering client work; building relationships with private equity sponsors, lenders, investment banks, corporate clients, and referral sources; recruiting and developing talent; and ensuring exceptional client service and technical quality across all engagements.

The Managing Director will operate as the local practice leader and a key member of GA Group's broader Transaction Advisory Services leadership team. The successful candidate will combine deep technical Quality of Earnings expertise with a demonstrated ability to build a sustainable book of business, lead high-performing teams, and represent the firm credibly in the local deal community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Local Practice Leadership & Growth

  • Lead the strategy, growth, operational performance, and market presence of the local TAS practice.
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan, including revenue objectives, pipeline development, target-client strategy, hiring needs, and local market initiatives.
  • Build GA Group's reputation as a trusted partner among private equity sponsors, lenders, investment banks, attorneys, corporate development teams, and other transaction professionals.
  • Serve as the senior local representative for the TAS practice, actively participating in industry organizations, conferences, networking events, and other business-development activities.
  • Partner closely with leaders across GA Group's Valuation, Transaction Opinions, CFO Advisory, Real Estate, Retail, and Wholesale & Industrial businesses to identify cross-selling opportunities and deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Contribute to the national TAS practice strategy, methodologies, service offerings, and go-to-market approach.


Business Development & Client Relationships

  • Originate new TAS and related transaction advisory engagements, while expanding relationships with existing clients and referral sources.
  • Build and maintain a differentiated network of senior-level relationships across the local and regional deal ecosystem.
  • Lead pursuit efforts, including opportunity qualification, scope development, fee proposals, client presentations, and negotiations.
  • Own senior client relationships throughout the transaction lifecycle, serving as a trusted advisor on complex financial, operational, and deal-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden the practice's services, deepen client relationships, and generate repeat and referral business.


Engagement Delivery

  • Provide executive oversight of multiple concurrent TAS engagements, ensuring quality, consistency, responsiveness, and commercial discipline.
  • Lead or remain actively involved in significant, complex, high-risk, or highly visible engagements.
  • Review and approve key client deliverables, ensuring that analysis is rigorous, findings are actionable, and communications meet GA Group's standards.
  • Oversee project economics, staffing, timelines, scope management, and realization across engagements.
  • Drive ongoing improvement in methodologies, work product, quality-control processes, and the use of efficient tools and practices.


Team Building & Talent Development

  • With the support of the Talent Team and to meet demand, recruit, retain, lead, and develop a high-performing local team, including Directors, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and create a culture of accountability, client service, technical excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Mentor senior team members in engagement leadership, client relationship management, business development, and people management.
  • Ensure staffing models support both near-term client needs and the long-term growth plan for the local practice.
  • Work collaboratively with national practice leadership to share resources, develop talent, and deliver a consistent client experience across markets.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 12+ years of experience in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, Quality of Earnings, accounting advisory, investment banking, private equity portfolio operations, or a closely related field; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline required; CPA, CFA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential preferred.
  • Significant experience leading Quality of Earnings engagements, including analysis of revenue, EBITDA normalization, working capital, cash flow, financial trends, and transaction-related risks.
  • Demonstrated success in originating, winning, and expanding client engagements, with an established network of relationships in the relevant transaction market preferred.
  • Proven experience building, managing, and developing teams in a fast-paced professional-services environment.
  • Strong commercial and operational judgment, including an ability to manage engagement economics, capacity, utilization, and profitability.
  • Executive-level presence and communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility with C-suite executives, private equity professionals, lenders, investment bankers, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong personal ownership, and the ability to build within a growing platform.
