Working alongside executive leaders, investors, and multidisciplinary specialists, you will shape the future of responsible mining while delivering tangible business outcomes that create lasting value.

Hybrid work arrangement. Candidates located near an ERM office are preferred but not required.

Why This Role Matters

At ERM, sustainability is our business. As the world's largest pure-play sustainability consultancy, we help leading organizations solve complex sustainability challenges while identifying opportunities for growth, resilience, and long-term value creation.

As a Managing Consultant within our Sustainability Strategy and Transformation team, you will play a critical role in helping mining clients align sustainability, risk management, and commercial objectives. You will advise organizations on some of their most important strategic decisions, from growth and investment opportunities to transformation initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, project financing, and risk management programs. Your work will directly influence how mining companies respond to evolving stakeholder expectations, regulatory requirements, and global sustainability priorities.

What Your Impact Is

In this role, you will:
  • Help mining clients connect sustainability to business value, enabling stronger performance, resilience, and long-term success.
  • Guide executive leadership teams in integrating sustainability, risk management, and value creation objectives into strategic decision-making.
  • Lead complex strategy, transformation, transaction, and risk advisory engagements across the mining sector.
  • Strengthen ERM's market presence by developing trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities for continued collaboration.
  • Influence investment decisions, project development strategies, and business transformation initiatives that shape the future of responsible mining.
  • Mentor and inspire multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

What You'll Bring
Required

  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, mining and metals, sustainability advisory, corporate strategy, project development, transactions, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering strategy, transformation, transaction, or risk advisory engagements within the mining and metals, and other industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, project financing, due diligence, corporate development, integration planning, or investment decisions.
  • Experience helping organizations translate sustainability commitments into actionable business strategies, transformation programs, and measurable performance outcomes.
  • Experience working with executive leadership teams to integrate sustainability, risk management, and value creation objectives into strategic decision-making.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex engagements, stakeholders, and project delivery.
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, and proposal development experience.
  • Strong understanding of ESG and sustainability issues facing the mining industry, including climate change, biodiversity, water stewardship, social performance, Indigenous engagement, human rights, mine closure, and responsible sourcing.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and manage sustainability, regulatory, operational, and stakeholder-related risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize technical, commercial, environmental, and social information into clear business recommendations.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, boards, investors, regulators, communities, and project teams.
  • Familiarity with leading sustainability frameworks, ESG due diligence practices, and mining industry regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Business, Economics, Sustainability, Finance, or a related discipline.
