Summary:

The HR Manager, Workforce Analytics serves as a strategic leader bridging HR data and enterprise workforce strategy for UNC Health. This role translates complex data into actionable insights that guide workforce strategy, inform business decisions, and drive organizational outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor, this leader partners with HR and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven recommendations, advance workforce planning, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.

This role has primary accountability for the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of HR reporting, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate, timely, and actionable workforce data to support decision-making. In addition, the role leads HR data governance to ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance, while promoting data literacy through clear, impactful communication and storytelling.

This position will require onsite presence at least once a week and must have previous human resources experience.

Responsibilities:
Serves as a strategic consultant to HR and business leaders, translating workforce analytics into clear, actionable insights that guide workforce strategy and drive business outcomes. Partners with stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with enterprise priorities and inform workforce planning decisions. Proactively identifies insights and reporting needs, ensuring leaders receive relevant, timely information to support effective decision-making. Delivers data-driven recommendations that optimize talent investments, enhance workforce effectiveness, and support long-term strategic goals.
Leads the design and execution of advanced analyses, including trend analysis and predictive modeling, to inform decision-making across HR. Develops dashboards, scorecards, and analytics solutions that enable leaders to assess workforce performance and take action. Oversees the production and delivery of both standardized and ad hoc workforce reports, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise data definitions. Continuously enhances reporting and analytics capabilities for scalability, usability, and efficiency, and synthesizes data across employee programs to generate meaningful insights that strengthen organizational performance.
Designs and delivers audience-specific data stories across all areas of HR (including operations, talent, development, and engagement), translating complex analyses into clear, intuitive visualizations and compelling presentations. Effectively communicates methodologies, insights, and outcomes to stakeholders ranging from peers to senior executives, driving understanding and adoption of workforce analytics through strong business storytelling.
Leads HR data governance strategy by establishing policies, standards, and practices that ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across systems. Defines and maintains enterprise workforce data definitions and reporting standards to ensure a single, trusted source of truth. Partners with HR, IT, and data stakeholders to align on data structures, governance processes, and responsible data management practices, reinforcing confidence in workforce data and reporting outputs.
Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing team of analysts, fostering capability, accountability, and continuous growth while driving excellence in analytics and reporting delivery. Sets vision and priorities for the workforce analytics function, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and effective use of resources. Establishes and advances the enterprise HR reporting strategy, including standardized reporting, scalable solutions, and self-service capabilities aligned with business needs. Oversees project intake, prioritization, and execution, and drives a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to deliver high-impact, strategically aligned workforce insights.

Professional Experience Requirements:
• Requires five (5) years of experience in data management, data visualization, or analytics, including work with large-scale data structures and complex analyses. Proficiency in Power BI and SQL is required. Prior experience with HR data is preferred, along with familiarity with Tableau or Visier.
