The Manager, Technology Product Management, plays a critical leadership role within the Global Sales organization, responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for Contract Deal Management (CDM). This role leads the modernization of the technology ecosystem that supports corporate and agency deal modeling, contracting, and implementation, enabling faster speed to market, improved customer experiences, and scalable business operations.

You will partner closely with Global Sales, Sales IT, Data Engineering, Procurement, Programs Strategy, other Commercial teams, and external vendors to deliver innovative solutions that simplify complex processes, improve data quality, and drive business outcomes across the corporate and agency contracting lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

  • Execute the product roadmap for CDM platforms and capabilities, aligning investments with corporate and agency sales objectives and technology strategies.
  • Lead modernization initiatives, including replacement of legacy systems, platform consolidation, workflow automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Oversee technology solutions supporting contract deal modeling, contract lifecycle management, contract execution, amendments, and implementation.
  • Drive optimization of platforms such as Conga CLM, Anaplan integrations, CRM solutions, and supporting contract and deal management applications.
  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization and enhancement.
  • Define business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics for product initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales IT, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
  • Manage product backlogs and prioritize work across multiple initiatives and releases.
  • Serve as the primary technology product leader for CDM capabilities across Global Sales.
  • Build strong relationships with sales leaders, deal consultants, implementation consultants, technology partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
  • Balance competing priorities and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams.
  • Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team of product owners, analysts, and subject matter experts.

  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of Product Owners (direct reports) and support professional growth and career development.

  • Understands and supports resolutions to customer problems, needs, challenges, and opportunities for the product.
  • Determines product objectives and key results that align to Product Strategy.
  • Influences and collaborate with various stakeholders on the Product Strategy to deliver on CDM's objectives.
  • Presents the thought process on product strategy, roadmap items, OKRs and planned releases to leaders and peers.
  • Influences and collaborates with stakeholders, peers, and other product leaders to deliver solutions that achieve the portfolio's vision and goals.
  • Evaluate technology partner and or solution to modernize CDM technology stack that supports American's long-term objectives in corporate and agency contracting and dealing strategy.
  • Collaborates with various internal team members such as Global Sales, Revenue Management, Program Strategy, UX, Technology, Legal, Procurement, etc. and external vendors.
  • Communicates regularly on OKRs, desired metrics, and areas requiring leadership's attention.
  • Practices agility in discovering and delivering value continuously.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 5 years of applicable experience or 7 years of equivalent Product Management/Delivery work experience
  • Experience working in a product model that promotes better customer experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Master's degree in related field with 5+ years of experience in Product Delivery
  • Experience with airline strategy and technology
  • Experience with product strategy and development
  • Prior experience as Product Owner and/or Product Manager desired

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Relevant certifications in Product Management/Product Delivery field
  • Strong knowledge/expertise of product domain including the business model, constraints, regulations, user experiences, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and as a leader, handle multiple assignments, and respond to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
