Job Description

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, overseeing technical support for the fleet, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving continuous improvement in aircraft performance and operational efficiency
• Drive the successful completion of special projects, including aircraft performance engineering and business analysis, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes that meet company objectives
• Act as a key resource in the Operations Data Analysis Working Group (ODAWG), leveraging data-driven insights to optimize operational performance and support strategic decision-making
• Coordinate and prioritize engineering projects, ensuring clear objectives, proper resource allocation, and timely execution in alignment with broader organizational priorities
• Organize and lead training initiatives for engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring skill development and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the department
• Oversee engineers' participation in inter-departmental training, including aircraft performance training, to promote knowledge sharing and improve operational effectiveness across teams
• Lead the department's involvement in aircraft accident/incident investigations, providing analysis and contributing to safety improvements through the interpretation of Flight Data Recorder (FDR) data
• Represent the engineering department in internal and external meetings, advocating for team objectives and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities
• Manage key processes such as seat restriction analysis, fuel forecasting models, and the maintenance of FAA-approved Weight & Balance documentation, ensuring operational accuracy and compliance
• Serve as the primary point of contact for aircraft performance and weight & balance coordination with internal teams and regulatory agencies, ensuring alignment with operational needs and FAA requirements

• 5 years of experience in aircraft performance or weight & balance engineering

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Master's degree in Engineering or related field

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
• Experience with Airbus and Boeing performance programs preferred
• Knowledge of jet aircraft performance, navigation and/or weight and balance
• Experience with database and programming software preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software and knowledge of FORTRAN, Visual Basic, C#, SQL, .NET, SAS, Java, MS Office, Python and XML/HTML preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate operational topics to other employees as well as with manufacturing representatives
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, shift priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
