Position: Manager, Technology Automation (Biingual)

The Role

As a Manager, Technology Automation, you will be leading DCM's newly formed Technology Automation department. You will oversee the design, build, deployment, and monitoring of automated workflows and task execution across all five centers of excellence. In this role, you will manage a team of 8-10 automation specialists across Canada and be the key driver of operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability by delivering intelligent automation solutions such as file management, data processing, program execution monitoring, and cross-departmental integration.

This is a hybrid role working 3 days per week onsite in our Montreal office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own the automation roadmap aligned with all Centers of Excellence (BCS, Composition, Data, Development, Digital Marketing)
  • Establish automation standards, frameworks, and best practices to ensure consistency, reusability, and maintainability of automation solutions
  • Evaluate and recommend automation tools, platforms, and technologies (RPA, scripting frameworks, orchestration platforms)
  • Develop governance policies for automation change management, testing, and deployment across various environments
  • Lead and develop a geographically distributed team of 8-10 automation professionals within Canada - setting goals, conducting 1:1s, and managing performance reviews
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and technical excellence
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of automation projects from gathering requirements, solution design, building, testing, and production deployment
  • Manage automation intake queue and communicate expectations and timelines to stakeholders
  • Ensure integration with existing platforms, data pipelines, and production systems by coordinating with internal teams
  • Implement monitoring dashboards and alerting mechanisms for automation processes to ensure visibility and meet SLAs
  • Coordinate incident response, root cause analyses, and documentation for failed/degraded automations in a timely manner
  • Track and report KPIs (performance uptime, throughput, error rates) regularly
  • Serve as primary liaison between Technology Automation department and five centers of excellence, ensuring automation solutions meet operational needs
  • Partner with Client Services team to Identify and drive automation opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance quality
  • Communicate automation initiatives, progress updates, and ROI metrics to leadership and stakeholders

Skills & Experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experienced with automation technologies, including RPA platforms (Automate, Skybot), scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and workflow orchestration tools (Azure Logic Apps)
  • Strong understanding of data center operations, file transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP, MFT), job scheduling, and enterprise integration patterns (APIs, ETL, message queuing)
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills managing geographically distributed, cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Strong project management and prioritization capabilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and familiarity with project management tools such as Azure DevOps or similar
  • Bilingualism in both English and French is strongly preferred, with English being required
