About the Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity for a highly motivated individual to be an important member of our technical tax team and join a well-established and sophisticated publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust. The Tax Manager's primary function of overseeing all aspects of the Company's tax compliance and REIT compliance processes as an outstanding tax team. This position is an excellent opportunity to obtain mentoring and expand technical and industry expertise while working closely with the Vice President of Tax. Summary of Responsibilities

An essential function of this position is regular and predictable attendance. The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
General Responsibilities
  • Manage the tax compliance process for the organization, coordinating with outside service providers to ensure timely filing of all tax returns.
  • Supervision and training of tax personnel, including review of work product and assisting with managing department priorities to best manage

  • Manage the preparation and review of year-end E&P, ensuring meeting of all reporting deadlines to shareholders, NAREIT and on the Company's audited financial
  • Responsible for reviewing all book-tax differences including analytical analyses of results and ensuring all proper disclosures are

Year-End Earnings & Profits (E&P) Calculations:
    • Coordination and review of year-end E&P computations, including comparison against periodic projections of taxable income requiring extensive analysis and experience in general tax principles.
    • Assist with reporting to shareholders, Nareit, and on the Company's Form 10-K.

General Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Perform tax technical review of all tax returns and related work-
  • Oversee various state, local and indirect tax compliance, including personal property returns, the filing of Forms 1099 and excise tax
  • Manage audits and respond to tax notices from taxing

At Kilroy, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within the role. The base pay range for this role is between $145,000 and $175,000 and your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus as well.
