Full Job Description
Join Aprio's Specialty Tax team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio Advisory Group, LLC is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Manager, Tax Credits & Incentives to join their dynamic team.

As a Manager on Aprio's Specialty Tax team, you own technical workstreams and review the work of our associates, partnering closely with U.S. engagement teams to move credit and incentive engagements from data to deliverable. You bring calm, seasoned judgment to complex calculations and new guidance, and you help the team around you get sharper.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage delivery of TC&I workstreams - credit calculations, eligibility analyses, benefit models, and substantiation packages - in coordination with U.S. engagement teams.
  • Review associate work for technical accuracy and quality, and provide clear, timely coaching.
  • Analyze eligibility for clean energy credits under the IRA and OBBBA, including Sections 48E, 45Y, 45X, 45Z, and 45Q, along with legacy Section 48.
  • Support credit monetization through transferability under Section 6418 and elective (direct) pay under Section 6417, including buyer- and seller-side diligence and documentation.
  • Evaluate bonus credit criteria - prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA), domestic content, energy community, and low-income community - and help maintain the supporting record.
  • Build and review models that quantify federal, state, and local credit and incentive benefits.
  • Research technical positions and help translate new guidance, such as Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) rules, into practical engagement steps.
  • Coordinate deliverable timelines, budgets, and status reporting across time zones.
  • Help grow the offshore team through training, review notes, and knowledge sharing.

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in tax credits and incentives, tax, or a related technical discipline, including workstream or team leadership.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. federal energy tax credits and credit monetization (transferability and elective pay).
  • Strong modeling skills (advanced Excel) and comfort building and reviewing credit calculations.
  • CPA, JD, Master of Taxation (MTax), Enrolled Agent, or steady progress toward one is preferred.
  • Experience with state and local credits and incentives, or site-selection analysis.
  • Familiarity with Forms 3800, 3468, 7207, and related credit forms.


$98,500 - $164,000 a year

The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
