The Opportunity The Manager, Student Navigation will oversee and coordinate student success strategies including proactive outreach, first-year student transition support and the Student Success Navigator team.
This role collaborates with campus and faculty partners to implement tailored strategies ensuring students are well-supported as they navigate key services, resources, and transitions throughout their academic journey.

Key responsibilities:- Oversees the delivery of Student Success programs, events and strategies including Navigate TMU and the TMU Readiness Quiz via supervision of the Student Success Navigators, including design, delivery, assessment and evaluation informed by the SA Learning Framework.).
- Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of Student Success programs, events and strategies including tracking, analysis and evaluation of data to identify areas of improvement and demonstrate achievement of key performance indicators aligned with TMU's Academic Plan and the SA Learning Framework.
- Leads the collaboration with and ongoing development of partnerships across the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students (OVPS) and campus-wide to ensure up-to-date information for the Student Success Navigator team and to increase awareness of and engagement with Student Success strategies to prospective and current students.
- Manages and supervises staff, assigns and prioritizes tasks, establishes goals, sets expectations and evaluates performance. Hires, trains, develops and performance manages assigned staff. Monitors performance and provides feedback to staff on performance.
- Assists the Associate Director in the development and execution of tailored strategies to support distinct and emerging needs in OVPS and the Faculties. Develops coordinated responses and action plans to ensure Faculties are supported through consistent engagement with Student Affairs units.
- Coordinates the development of communications and promotional materials for Student Success programs, events and strategies through various outlets (e.g. social media, email, newsletters) in alignment with TMU's brand guidelines.
- Engages with peers in the field nationally and abroad to raise the profile and reputation of the university as a leader in student success and student support. This includes presenting at conferences, events, virtual presentations and online engagement.

- Completion of a post-secondary degree in social sciences, psychology, education or a related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Student Affairs or a related field leading strategies focused on student support, success, transition, and/or resource navigation.
- Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of best practices and the development, implementation and assessment of student success, support and/or retention strategies.
- Experience managing and navigating the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of research and scholarship in the fields of higher and postsecondary education related to student development and/or student success.
- Ability to utilize methodologies, tools and leadership approaches in the management and development of early career professionals and/or highly effective teams.
- Ability to write and translate data and/or high level research implications to practice and to create reports and proposals for various audiences;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
