Job Description:Position: Manager, Strategy and Business AnalyticsThe Manager, Strategy and Business Analytics is a senior, portfolio-facing leader responsible for the analytics, financial planning, and strategic decision-support agenda across the Portfolio. This position partners directly with the Portfolio CEO and two Group Leaders. Working hand-in-hand with the BU Leaders to ensure that performance is measured rigorously, capital is allocated thoughtfully, and strategic initiatives including AI are translated into measurable P&L impact.
During the first 12 months, the Manager of Strategy and Business Analytics will focus on planning, tracking, and reporting across the Goldberg Portfolio. The initial mandate will center on improving forecasting rigor, and operating metrics, and visibility into business performance across all portfolio companies.
This position will also establish portfolio-wide reporting standards and analytical processes that improve decision-making, support capital allocation, and enable leadership to identify both risks and growth opportunities earlier and with greater confidence. Success in the first year will be measured by improved reporting consistency, enhanced forecasting accuracy, stronger operational visibility, and the creation of scalable analytics frameworks that can support the continued growth of the Portfolio. The successful candidate is a self-starter, action-oriented and analytically sharp, with strong commercial judgment and the ability to engage senior leaders as a credible thought partner.
Job ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management- Forecast-to-actuals discipline: Map forecast to actuals every month and quarter at the BU and portfolio level, owning variance analysis, calling out emerging risks early, and recommending corrective actions to the Group Leaders and BU Presidents.
- Bridge analysis: Own the bridge analysis across revenue, EBITDA, and cash flow, explaining the operational and financial drivers behind period-over-period and forecast variances.
- Performance frameworks: Design, build, and maintain KPI dashboards, scorecards, and metric frameworks (ARR, NRR, Attrition) so each BU Leader has consistent, real-time visibility into what is working and where to push.
Investment Analysis & IRR Management- IRR initiatives: Manage the IRR analysis across all major capital deployment decisions including AI investments, product migrations, and growth initiatives and track realized vs. underwritten returns over time at the portfolio level.
- Investment analysis: Evaluate proposed investments and operational bets across the businesses, building defensible business cases that quantify expected return, payback, sensitivities, and downside risk for the Portfolio CEO and Group Leaders.
- Capital allocation: Partner with the Portfolio CEO and Group Leaders on capital allocation decisions across the Portfolio, ensuring dollars are directed to the highest-return opportunities and that underperforming initiatives are surfaced and addressed quickly.
AI P&L Impact Tracking & Validation. This role is responsible for evaluating and measuring the commercial impact of AI initiatives rather than leading technical implementation.- AI P&L tracking: Establish the framework for tracking the P&L impact of AI initiatives across each business covering both revenue uplift (new AI-enabled monetization, pricing, and packaging) and cost-side impact (productivity, automation, headcount avoidance, support deflection).
- Validation of success: Validate AI initiative outcomes against original business cases, separating signal from noise and providing the Portfolio CEO and Group Leaders with an honest read on which AI bets are paying back, which need to be re-scoped, and which should be discontinued.
- AI investment governance: Partner with BU Leaders and Group Leaders to bring financial rigor to the AI Transformation Roadmap sizing opportunities, modeling ROI, and ensuring AI investments are sequenced and resourced in a way that is consistent with the CORA Best Practices.
Business Analytics & Decision Support- Cross-portfolio analytics: Build and oversee a centralized analytics capability that serves all businesses, standardizing definitions, reporting, and data governance so portfolio-level comparisons are clean and credible.
- Strategic decision support: Deliver actionable insights to BU Presidents and Group Leaders on pricing, customer expansion, retention, product migration, and translating data into clear recommendations that drive growth and margin improvement.
Job QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field with an excellent academic record.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, business analytics, consulting, investment banking, or private equity, ideally in B2B SaaS or vertical market software.
- Strong commercial judgment and proven ability to translate financial and operational data into clear, executive-ready recommendations.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including driver-based forecasting, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, ask probing questions, and challenge the status quo constructively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate cross-BU conversations and present to executive audiences.
- Location: GTA Area/Remote, with travel to Goldberg portfolio business units and the Jonas/CORA head office in Markham, ON as required.
