We're looking for an attitude and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. This is a hands-on engineering management role leading development for ClearGov's product suite-driving technical direction, mentoring engineers, and actively contributing to architecture and delivery.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership, technical depth, and creative problem-solving, consistently delivering high-quality results. Responsibilities span the full software development lifecycle, including architecture and design, implementation, testing, performance optimization, and ongoing support, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver reliable and maintainable software.
Duties:
- Lead the delivery of the Platform Services group and oversee engineering execution of platform capabilities.
- Own the development and delivery of platform features supporting planning, budgeting, reporting, and financial data management.
- Drive architectural consistency for shared financial data models across the platform.
- Lead platform migration initiatives using safe deployment strategies, including parallel schemas, feature flags, and phased cutovers.
- Manage, mentor, coach, and develop software engineers to foster technical growth and high performance.
- Lead engineering planning, prioritization, and execution to ensure predictable and timely delivery.
- Support continuous improvement of team processes, incident response procedures, and release readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable platform solutions.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, business administration, commerce or engineering is usually required.
- Minimum 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including demonstrated success leading engineering teams in a SaaS environment.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly in financial, reporting, or ERP systems.
- Experience designing and developing APIs and integration solutions.
- Knowledge of data import/export processes and integration patterns.
- Experience with background processing and event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and production support practices.
- Experience building and supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of configurable data models and metadata-driven architectures.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments and delivery practices.
Terms of Employment: Full-Time (FTE)

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary: $160,000 CAD per year or $76.92/hour
