Full Job Description
The position will develop and execute communications strategies and programs to enhance the consistency, clarity and alignment of internal communications among internal and external customers. The position works with agency partners and the internal marketing communications team to design, develop, and produce internal and external communications required to support internal stakeholders. External Communications • Own media relations strategy and execution across the portfolio, in partnership with segment leads, building and maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, and producers. • Develop media materials, including key messages, press release drafts, briefing documents, and spokesperson talking points • Identify and pursue proactive story opportunities that strengthen institutional reputation across the five institutions • Advise institution and segment leadership on message development and positioning ahead of interviews and public appearances • Support executive visibility efforts, including LinkedIn presence, thought leadership content, and speaking opportunity identification, across institutions • Track media placements and share-of-voice, using results to refine story angles and pitching strategy • Partner with the Enterprise Media Team and segment leads to coordinate pitching and avoid duplicated outreach Internal Communications • Own internal communications plans end to end, from strategy and planning through execution and measurement • Support and execute all-hands meetings and cross-institution events, including drafting talking points and presentations, advising on event flow, and preparing speakers • Identify opportunities to build scalable systems and workflows, including AI-enabled tools, that strengthen internal communications across all five institutions • Measure communications effectiveness using data and feedback, and apply those insights to improve future work • Partner with segment communications leads and cross-functional partners to coordinate change management and internal issues communications Enterprise Alignment & Prioritization • Ensure consistency in execution and quality across all five institutions, while adapting approach to each institution's distinct voice and audience • Build and maintain deep familiarity with all five institutions' strategic priorities, audiences, and brand voice, serving as a connective resource across the portfolio • Identify opportunities to apply what's working in one institution to others, strengthening consistency without flattening institutional identity • Performs other duties as assigned • Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field required. • 3-5 years of experience in communications, spanning both internal and external work required. • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple brands, institutions or accounts simultaneously. • Experience in media relations as well as internal/employee communications. • Higher education, healthcare, or professional services experience preferred. Additional Skills • Versatile - equally comfortable in media relations and internal communications execution. • Fast learner, able to quickly get up to speed on a new institution's context and voice. • Strong writing and editing across formats: press releases, colleague emails, talking points. • Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities from one week to the next. • Collaborative - integrates smoothly into different segment teams without needing a fixed lane. Additional Information In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70,696.34 and $127,957.05. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
