As
Manager, Sales Incentives & Administration, you will lead the administration, governance, and optimization of Abbott Diabetes Care's sales incentive compensation programs across multiple commercial channels. You will serve as a strategic business partner to Sales Leadership, Finance, HR, Commercial Excellence, and Analytics teams, ensuring incentive programs effectively drive business objectives while maintaining operational excellence, compliance, and financial accuracy.
This role requires deep expertise in incentive compensation design and administration, quota and goal management, sales performance analytics, ICM platform leadership, and process automation. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with exceptional stakeholder management skills to enhance sales force effectiveness, improve operational scalability, and ensure the integrity of compensation processes in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales Administration & Incentives, this position offers a unique opportunity to influence commercial strategy while supporting a world-class sales organization.
What You'll DoIncentive Compensation Strategy & Administration- Lead the end-to-end administration of sales incentive compensation programs across multiple sales and field-based organizations.
- Partner with Sales Leadership and Commercial Excellence teams to support incentive plan design, annual goal and quota setting, performance measurement, and MBO administration.
- Drive ongoing evaluation and optimization of compensation plans through regular health checks, performance analysis, and stakeholder feedback.
- Assess effectiveness of incentive programs and recommend enhancements that align with evolving business strategies and organizational priorities.
ICM Platform & Operational Excellence- Serve as the business owner and subject matter expert for the Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) platform.
- Ensure data integrity, system governance, and operational efficiency across all compensation-related processes.
- Lead initiatives to automate manual processes, improve reporting capabilities, and enhance overall user experience.
- Partner with IT, vendors, and external service providers to implement system improvements and support future business requirements.
Compensation Administration & Governance- Oversee the accurate calculation, validation, and timely delivery of quarterly and annual variable compensation payments.
- Develop and maintain robust controls, audit processes, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX requirements, OEC guidelines, and the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.
- Manage compensation plan distribution, acknowledgment tracking, and document administration through digital workflow and contract management platforms.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of participant rosters, including new hires, transfers, promotions, territory changes, and terminations.
Analytics & Business Partnership- Analyze sales performance and compensation outcomes to identify risks, trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Develop executive-level reporting and insights that support leadership decision-making and sales force effectiveness initiatives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Sales Operations, Commercial Analytics, and Payroll to ensure alignment on compensation-related processes and outcomes.
- Serve as a key point of escalation and resolution for compensation inquiries, exception management, and field-facing support.
Leadership & Capability Building- Provide training and ongoing support to Sales Leadership, managers, and field personnel regarding compensation plans, performance metrics, and ICM tools.
- Influence and lead cross-functional teams on strategic compensation and sales operations initiatives.
- Establish best practices and standardized processes that improve scalability, consistency, and organizational effectiveness.
Experience You'll BringRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in sales incentive compensation, sales operations, sales analytics, commercial excellence, or related functions.
- Demonstrated expertise in incentive compensation plan administration, sales performance management, and quota/goal-setting methodologies.
- Strong understanding of compensation concepts including quota-based plans, MBOs, accelerators, SPIFFs, draw programs, thresholds, and payout governance.
- Experience administering leading ICM platforms such as Performio, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, QuotaPath, Zeidyn Field Performance, SalesIQ, or similar solutions.
- Advanced analytical and data management skills with expertise in Excel and reporting/visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Power BI, Business Objects, or equivalent platforms.
- Proven experience managing complex datasets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional projects.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to reconcile compensation calculations with Finance and Payroll requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Proven success operating in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience within the Medical Device, Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Healthcare industries.
- Experience working with third-party healthcare sales data sources such as IQVIA (IMS) and Symphony Health.
- Experience with DocuSign CLM or other contract lifecycle management solutions.
- Experience leading compensation governance, audit, and compliance initiatives.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The base pay for this position is $114,000.00 - $228,000.00
