Full Job Description

We are seeking a Sales Engineering Manager to lead and support a small team of Sales Engineers within the region. In this role, you will focus on hands-on coaching, supporting pre-sales execution, and assisting the team on complex customer opportunities. You will play a key role in helping customers successfully evaluate and adopt Cohesity's data security and management solutions, while developing your leadership capability and supporting strong sales outcomes through high-quality technical engagement.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Engineers, supporting their technical development, customer engagement skills, and execution throughout the sales cycle.


  • Partner closely with Sales Managers to support new customer opportunities, providing hands-on technical guidance and ensuring high-quality pre-sales support across assigned territories.


  • Support customer engagements across Cohesity's Data Cloud portfolio, including backup, recovery, cyber resilience, and data security, ensuring solutions align with customer technical and business requirements.


  • Assist with RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and deal support, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-positioned technical responses in collaboration with Sales and Partners.


  • Support customer and partner conversations related to secondary storage and data protection use cases, helping position Cohesity as a strong solution for modern data security needs.


  • Ensure consistent delivery of product demonstrations, technical workshops, and proofs of concept, supporting SEs in demonstrating both product capabilities and customer value.


  • Identify technical challenges during pre-sales and early customer engagements, escalating and collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to drive resolution.


  • Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to Sales Engineers during complex deals, customer meetings, and evaluations, acting as a point of escalation when needed.


WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Experience supporting SLED environments, including working with public-sector IT, security, and infrastructure teams and responding to structured RFP/RFI processes and budget-driven buying cycles.
  • Experience partnering with Information Security, IT, or Infrastructure teams, with a solid understanding of enterprise security concepts, compliance considerations, and customer risk requirements.


  • Prior experience managing or mentoring Sales Engineers, or serving as a technical team lead within pre-sales, infrastructure, data protection, or security environments.


  • Strong technical foundation in enterprise data protection, backup and recovery, or cyber resilience technologies.


  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop technical talent, improving skills, confidence, and customer effectiveness.


  • Working knowledge of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, and how modern data management solutions integrate within them.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


  • Security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM) are a plus but not required.


  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.


  • Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.


  • Willingness to travel as required to support customers, partners, and team needs.

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate's skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

Pay Range :

$237,600.00-$264,000.00

The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.

Current pay transparency shows the OTE (On-Target Earnings) for commission-based roles.

In-Office Expectations

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
