POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Risk Program Management Casualty is primarily responsible for supporting the management of the Company's casualty programs. This includes reviewing contracts and certificates of insurance for insurance compliance, as well as managing the liability and workers' compensation claims program. The Manager, Risk Management Casualty is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and analyzing claims and financial data as needed.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Oversees the liability and workers' compensation claim programs.
- Assists department leadership with management and evaluation of the performance of the third party claims administrator and other vendors associated with the liability and workers' compensation programs.
- Manages Texas non-subscriber program.
- Oversees the national return to work program.
- Assists injured workers through recovery.
- Maintains nationwide medical panels, CA MPN program, PPO networks, PBM network, etc.
- Provides training to locations to ensure proper knowledge of the Casualty programs in the individual jurisdictions.
- Manages, evaluates and assists with the selection of Defense Panel for the casualty program.
- Responsible for the oversight of all workers' compensation regulatory filings required of the Company.
- Organizes and conducts claim file reviews and audits with adjusters, attorneys and field operations personnel to confirm accurate file reserving and claim resolution plans are in place, including follow-up after reviews.
- Conducts third party administrator (TPA) audits to ensure adherence to special account instructions and best claims handling practices.
- Establishes procedures, systems, and tools and monitors productivity and efficiency standards between the Company's business units and the claims administration team.
- Attends mediations on Risk Management matters on behalf of the Company.
- Conducts routine investigations and assists defense attorneys with the gathering of documentation.
- Manages legal discovery process and casualty related subpoena process.
- Manages handling of first party property losses and product liability claims.
- Assists department management by analyzing claims data to identify trends and potential solutions for loss control.
- Acts as a backup to the department management to provide immediate technical crisis management advice to field operations during serious losses.
- Addresses field inquiries regarding the monthly claims chargeback allocation. Reviews and prepares monthly chargeback allocation report for finance.
- Coordinates and conducts regular meetings with various other departments in an effort to share information gleaned from claims and claim related litigation.
- Serves as a liaison between the Risk Management department and field employees, managers, vendors, and attorneys.
- Provides technical expertise to field operations on best practices for managing casualty claims and issue resolution.
- Provides certificate of insurance education to operations and various corporate departments.
- Assists in resolving insurance coverage discrepancy issues encountered by the field and procurement group in negotiating contracts with customers and vendors.
- Assists other departments with requests for information relative to Risk Management department matters.
- Assists in gathering data and data analysis, as needed.
- This position may require travel by air, car and/or other modes of transportation up to 15% of the time.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Insurance licensing i.e. CPCU, Casualty Adjusters license, etc.
- Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of the legal process as it relates to claims management.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and different lines of insurance and coverage.
- Must be able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately.
- Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment either as part of a team or with a high level of autonomy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Minimum 10 years claims experience primarily involving auto, general liability and workers' compensation matters.
This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in our Phoenix, AZ office. This candidate will be required to work onsite 4-days per week, with the option to work 1-day per week remote.Please note, this position is not sponsorship eligible.
