The Role

The Manager, Regulatory Trade Reporting is responsible for leading a team within Global Wholesale Operations that supports the effective execution and monitoring of regulatory trade and transaction reporting controls. The role ensures Scotiabank meets its regulatory obligations for complete, accurate, and timely reporting, while supporting business initiatives and continuous improvement.

This position works closely with Technology, Compliance, Business Risk Management, Regulatory Business Initiatives, and other stakeholders to support regulatory, operational, and business objectives.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team responsible for the execution, documentation, and oversight of daily and periodic regulatory reporting controls, including breach management, escalation, and remediation activities.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of regulatory trade and transaction reporting across applicable regimes, with a focus on CFTC, SEC, and CIRO, and support for ESMA, FCA, MAS, and HKMA requirements.
  • Maintain a strong, up to date understanding of regulatory reporting requirements, control expectations, and related operational processes.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are current and that team members are appropriately trained.
  • Support change initiatives to enhance regulatory reporting controls, monitoring frameworks, and associated management metrics.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reporting for management and governance forums, highlighting key risks, issues, and trends.
  • Support delivery of management commitments related to regulatory reviews, internal testing, and audit observations, including remediation and evidence of closure.
  • Promote a strong risk culture and ensure activities align with the Bank's risk appetite, values, and Code of Conduct.
  • Foster an inclusive, high performance team environment through coaching, development, and effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in business operations, operational risk, compliance, regulatory reform, or front office support functions within a capital markets environment.
  • Knowledge of the derivatives trade lifecycle and associated regulatory reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and reporting logic across multiple regimes (e.g., CFTC, SEC, ESMA, FCA, MAS, HKMA, CIRO).
  • Familiarity with trade repositories (e.g., DTCC, UnaVista) and reporting logic engines (e.g., DROIT) is an asset.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Global coverage may require periodic conference calls outside standard business hours.
