The role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the real estate strategy process, market assessment, competition monitoring and portfolio optimization for the OEG Retail Cannabis Business. The Manager, Real Estate will be responsible for leading the business in developing a national commercial real estate strategy to support the continued expansion of the OEG Retail Cannabis business.
Key Responsibilities:- The role will have direct responsibility for the following:
- Identifying & evaluating all potential new retail locations
- identification and negotiation for all new sites to support the continuing growth of the OEG Retail Cannabis business, including negotiating & finalizing all lease terms with Landlords for new sites
- Overseeing the maintenance of all existing real estate reports and files.
- Acting as the key point of contact in all aspects of the management & negotiation of existing leases
- Managing lease contract preparation for projects by liaising with lawyers, real estate brokers, landlords, land surveyors, fee appraisers, project planners, consultants and various user groups.
- Lead the process of creating accurate model forecasts for all new stores.
- Periodically update Site Selection process and methodologies used internally, including map visualizations, GIS report outputs, market intensity studies, and as strategic initiatives change.
- Act as the lead in understanding any Real Estate issues relating to new acquisitions and where necessary take the lead in complex negotiations to ensure that all potential issues are identified, understood and negotiated.
- Act as lead & mentor to negotiate & influence resolutions to outstanding rent and lease issues affecting business performance within the OEG Retail Cannabis business.

- Where necessary, interact with key stakeholders in the business for site visits and strategic planning purposes.

Key Qualifications- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Canadian retail landscape
- 10+ years of progressive business experience in a retail environment
- Ability to establish strong client relations at various levels of an organization
- Proven success in senior business development activities
