As Manager of Quality Improvement, you will be joining a dynamic department that protects the organization as well as the people we serve.   Specifically, your role will be to assist in framing a cohesive approach to quality improvement throughout the organization. Consistent with S:US’ core value of Continuous Quality Improvement, this effort will support the development, coordination and implementation of a quality improvement program that promotes the delivery of quality services to the individuals served across all divisions.  The position will be responsible for helping to build our capacity to further advance quality improvement efforts, and overseeing all quality improvement activities within the Quality Assurance Department.  Conduct multiple site visits every week to ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates, and to ensure that quality services are being provided to individuals served. Develop audit tools and protocols designed to review, measure, demonstrate and evaluate consumer care and outcomes.  Prepare for and participate in various internal program evaluation audits. Work collaboratively with program management to develop, review, and revise policies and procedures affecting consumer quality of care and health and safety. Support, promote, and encourage a culture of quality services and safety throughout the organization.

 

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring, evaluating, and documenting the day-to-day operations of a quality improvement program.
  • Oversee all quality improvement activities within the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Responsible for developing policies, procedures, protocols, and audit tools, to ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
  • Supervise the QI Consumer Advocate, as well as other potential Quality Assurance staff responsible for quality improvement activities.
  • Conduct multiple site visits every week to ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates, and to ensure that quality services are being provided to individuals served.
  • Conduct targeted site observations and other internal audits reviews, including: (i) determining what programmatic areas need to be reviewed in order to ensure that relevant regulations, policies and procedures are being implemented appropriately addressed; (ii) identifying and immediately addressing any health and safety issues with program management to protect the agency and the individuals we serve; and (iii) drafting internal audit reports to be used by program management to ensure quality services and compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-certification audit reviews for programs, including: (i) determining the areas that need to be reviewed in preparation for external audits; (ii) meeting with program management to review findings and to provide guidance on compliance with regulatory mandates; and (iii) drafting internal audit reports to be used by program management in audit preparation activities.
  • Conduct reviews of the implementation of Plans of Corrective Actions (POCAs) to ensure that the areas identified in the POCAs have been addressed in order to protect the agency from receiving repeat audit citations.
  • Review, revise, and identify issues relating to Plans of Corrective Actions (POCAs) for government programs or audits prior to submission by S:US to external oversight agencies to ensure acceptance of the POCAs by said oversight agencies.
  • Participate on the Mortality Review Committee (MRC).
  • Create reports for the Chief Compliance Officer and VP of Quality Assurance and Compliance that document and measure Quality improvement activities.
  • Draft written reports and presentations related to quality improvement processes and outcomes.
  • Establish quality measurement and improvement activities, including methods to track the effectiveness and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Plan and manage the process of accurate data collection, objective evaluation, and QI activities of specific programs and the agency as a whole.
  • Communicate quality improvement efforts and outcomes to all stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with program management to develop, review, and revise policies and procedures affecting consumer quality of care and health and safety.
  • Participate in staff/management meetings as they relate to quality improvement activities.
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in related field, together with minimum of five (5) years of experience in program operations or quality assurance in the human services field.
  • Must be willing to:
    • Travel extensively in all of the boroughs
    • Work a flexible schedule in order to meet the needs of the department

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Audit experience preferred.
  • Experience working in the developmental disabilities field preferred.
