Box is building a modern, AI-first Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Intelligence & Operations organization that makes it easier for Boxers to buy, scale, and manage technology spend - while unlocking business value, maintaining strong controls, and mitigating third-party risk.

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcing Partner to partner directly with our Build (Engineering) and Box Security organizations. In this role, you will lead end-to-end sourcing lifecycles, manage commercial and technology contracting, drive proactive renewals, and optimize supplier performance across mission-critical cloud software, security tooling, and support Procurement Operations with reporting and/or special ad hoc process improvement projects.

This is a high-impact, problem-solving role, not an administrative one. As an AI-first company, we need a sourcing professional who looks beyond legacy sourcing motions - knowing how to leverage AI tools and data intelligence to accelerate cycle times, proactively manage renewal pipelines, and deliver commercial value while fostering strong, trusted cross-functional relationships.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic Sourcing & Renewals Management

• Lead End-to-End Sourcing: Manage the full sourcing lifecycle (RFI/RFP/RFQs, vendor selection, commercial negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboarding) for Build and Security.
• Renewals & Pipeline Management: Proactively manage the renewal pipeline; analyze historical usage, benchmark pricing, optimize licensing models, and lead negotiations well in advance of contract expiration.
• Technology Contracting: Construct deal strategies and negotiation plans, review, and negotiate commercial terms, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Order Forms, and SaaS/Cloud agreements in close partnership with Legal, Security, Finance and the Business Owners.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Embed with engineering and security leaders as a trusted advisor, understanding roadmaps, forecasting spend, and aligning commercial strategies.

Governance, Risk & Operational Excellence

• Third-Party Evaluation & Risk Mitigation: Shepherd suppliers through Box One Spending Standard ("BOSS") process and help facilitate requests through the various approvals steps such as Supplier Trust, Legal, and Finance.
• Supplier Performance & Relationship Management: Join the team in providing input as we develop our Supplier management program. This will include monitoring vendor performance, track SLAs and contractual commitments, lead Business Reviews (QBRs) for critical suppliers, and resolve contract compliance or delivery issues.
• AI-First Process: This AI first in all the work that we do with the goal of automation and self-service so we continue to eliminate friction, reduce cycle time, and enhance data hygiene in Zip.

Procurement Operations

• Dual-Hat Sourcing & Operations Support: Manage operational procurement workflows alongside strategic sourcing initiatives, assiting where needed to ensure requisition intake, purchase orders, approvals, and onboarding move swiftly without bottlenecks and assisting in leading BOSS office hours
• Help Design & Deliver Quarterly Reporting: Own the cadence of operational and strategic reporting - creating comprehensive deal overview including completed and upcoming deals and savings.
• Ad-Hoc Data Analysis & Spend Modeling: Run regular and ad-hoc reports to evaluate category spend patterns as requested.

• Strong Data & Reporting Capabilities: You love working with data and have advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets and reporting tools. You are adept at extracting data, running queries, synthesizing insights, and presenting polished monthly and quarterly reports for leadership.
• Blended Sourcing & Operations Experience: You bring 3-6+ years of progressive experience across strategic sourcing, procurement operations, vendor management, or spend analytics - ideally within high-growth technology, SaaS, or Cloud environments.
• Comfortable with Tech Contracting: You understand technology contracts (SaaS, IaaS, security tools, professional services), licensing metrics, and commercial negotiation levers; you are comfortable partnering with Legal and InfoSec to finalize agreements.
• Operational Problem Solver: You take pride in structured workflows, data cleanliness, and creating frictionless procurement processes for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Communicator: You build strong working relationships across Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, and Accounting, communicating complex data and commercial terms clearly.
• AI-First & Continuous Improvement Mindset: You are eager to utilize AI and automation to modernize procurement operations, eliminate manual overhead, and accelerate delivery.
• Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with Zip preferred.
