The Manager, Credential Management Professional Services & Pre-Sales Engineering provides leadership for a team of Professional Services Consultants, Solution Architects, and Pre-Sales Engineers supporting Credential Management's Identity and Credential Management, PKI, Authentication, and Access Control solutions. This leadership role is responsible for aligning technical sales engagement, solution architecture, implementation services, and customer adoption activities to drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and successful business outcomes.
The position serves as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders throughout the customer lifecycle-from solution evaluation and technical validation through deployment, adoption, and expansion. The role partners closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and Marketing to ensure successful delivery of HID solutions across enterprise, government, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure markets.
The ideal candidate possesses strong people leadership capabilities, deep expertise in identity and access management, credential management, PKI, authentication, and cybersecurity technologies, and a proven track record leading customer-facing technical teams supporting complex security and digital identity programs. The role is accountable for sales revenue attainment, operational execution, team performance, delivery quality, customer satisfaction, workforce effectiveness, and technical support of strategic opportunities within Credential Management.
As our Manager, Pre-Sales & Professional Services, you'll support HID's success by: - Leading, coaching, developing, and retaining a high-performing Credential Management Professional Services and Pre-Sales Engineering team, establishing clear performance objectives and accountability aligned with customer success, service quality, workforce effectiveness, and organizational performance.
- Achieving Credential Management sales revenue, bookings, customer retention, and growth objectives through effective leadership of Professional Services and Pre-Sales Engineering.
- Directing the delivery of implementation, integration, migration, training, consulting, architecture review, and solution validation services, ensuring consistent execution, successful customer outcomes, and adherence to delivery standards.
- Partnering closely with Sales leadership to establish governance frameworks, scalable delivery systems, and technical advisory needed to execute high-impact customer engagements, including executive briefings, customer demonstrations, architectural workshops, proof-of-concept validations, across the entire customer lifecycle.
- Serving as the senior escalation point for complex and strategic customer, technical, and delivery matters involving executive customers, partners, security leaders, key IT decision-makers, and other critical stakeholders
- Providing strategic leadership and technical guidance across identity and security solutions, including credential management, PKI, digital certificates, authentication, MFA, FIDO, workforce and citizen identity, physical access control, and mobile access technologies.
- Leading Credential Management operational planning activities including workforce planning, forecasting, resource allocation, capacity management, skills development, performance reporting, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Partnering with sales leadership to drive technical sales strategy, customer adoption, and business growth initiatives leveraging pre-sales and professional services resources to align customer requirements, business priorities, and market opportunities while maximizing business outcomes.
- Collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Customer Support, Customer Success, Marketing, and other stakeholders to translate customer requirements, implementation feedback, and market insights into product improvements, enhanced customer outcomes, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Supporting customer engagements, architecture discussions, partner meetings, executive briefings, and strategic account activities requiring technical leadership, while building and maintaining trusted relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Establishing and driving scalable standards for project governance, delivery methodologies, quality management, risk mitigation, service excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the North America region.
- Monitoring and evaluating industry trends, security standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies to guide technical capabilities, team development, solution delivery, and strategic priorities.
- Providing operational input, workforce planning recommendations, customer feedback, and resource forecasts to support leadership planning activities.
- Contributing to Credential Management business planning, organizational development, and go-to-market strategies to drive long-term growth, resource optimization, and operational excellence.
Your Experience and Background include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, identity and access management, enterprise software, or security technology industries.
- 5+ years leading customer-facing technical teams within cybersecurity, identity management, enterprise software, or related technology domains.
- Experience leading Professional Services, Solution Architecture, Technical Consulting, or Pre-Sales Engineering teams.
- Proven success supporting enterprise and government customers.
- Strong expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Credential Management Systems, Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), cloud security, digital certificates, enterprise integrations, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, team development, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong customer-facing communication, presentation, consulting, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage complex technical and business initiatives across multiple stakeholders and functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related business tools.
- MBA or advanced technical degree is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, PMP, ITIL, Microsoft Security, CIAM, PKI, Digital Identity, or related certifications is preferred.
- Experience supporting large-scale identity, cybersecurity, or credential management deployments in regulated industries is preferred.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range does not account for geographic differentials based on the location where the position may be filled. At HID, it is uncommon for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range. Final compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.
The base salary in the United States is $160,000 to $200,000. The OTE is up to $250,000.
