2026-09-23 11:59 PMWe are seeking a collaborative, highly organized, and innovative Operations Manager to join our leadership team
The ideal candidate will have a progressive background in Video and Audio Post Production Operations. As the Manager of Post Production, you will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition of new technology, implementation of workflows, and managing a team of audio engineers and video editors that support Entertainment, Factual, Sports, and Specials productions for both the CBC and external clients.
This position plays a crucial role in creating an engaging and high-performing work environment for employees, while championing our inclusive culture which focuses on continuous learning and operational excellence. The role requires an understanding of change management and aligning HR practices with the organization's strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will work as part of an innovative team that excels through exploration, learning, collaboration and change. They will constantly look for improvement in our processes, use of technology, and within our teams.
Main responsibilities and impact:
Work closely and coordinate with project managers, show producers, and staff to
implement plans and changes within audio and video post production.
Ensure the latest workflows, using the most relevant tools and solutions as needed by
production
Navigate production requests and requirements, while ensuring continuous learning and
development for the team.
Introduce and implement departmental best practices, workflows and procedures
Conducting staff performance reviews, and providing support, counseling and motivation
for career development
Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members
Manage and resolve conflicts
Manage staff readiness and succession planning, based on all available knowledge
around impending assignments, new programming, and changing technology and
software
Oversee team budget and forecasting
Provide updates and progress reports to senior management

Collaboration with Project Managers and Technical Producers
Work closely with Technology and Infrastructure (T&I) teams regarding the upkeep and
future proofing of our post facilities
Works in tandem with Operations and Production management
Liaise with in house and external producers to support our content
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth working knowledge of Post Production tools such as:
AVID Media Composer
AVID Protools and related plug-ins
Adobe Premiere
DaVinci Resolve
Strategic thinker and solution-oriented change management leader.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a high level of influence and
persuasion, to lead and manage a diverse group of creative individuals.
Passion for following the latest in innovative technology
Familiarity with file-based workflows.
A genuine interest in Entertainment and Sports content for all platforms
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse group of creative individuals in a unionized
environment.
Skilled at communicating with vendors and clients with regard to purchasing, technical
issues, and support.
Familiarity with Television and Radio production systems, implementation of new
technology, and ability to coordinate system upgrades.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical ideas
into a business context when presenting a rationale for improvements or changes.
The ability to speak French is considered an asset.

Typical schedule: Monday to Friday 9-5

Education Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
University degree or related experience.
Experience (relevant to the role):
4+ years of experience in a similar role.
