The Role

What You'll Do
As our Manager, Payroll & Benefits, you will lead the day-to-day payroll, benefits, and HRIS operations while driving process improvements and supporting a best-in-class employee experience.
Payroll Administration
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of Beanfield's bi-weekly payroll by:
- Managing the full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with Canada Labour Code requirements.
- Validating payroll reports and reconciling payroll prior to transmission.
- Preparing year-end payroll activities including T4s and year-end reconciliations.
- Responding to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
- Maintaining complete payroll documentation and supporting internal and external audits.
- Preparing regular reporting including overtime analysis, headcount reporting, and vacation liability.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and provincial employment standards, CRA regulations, Revenu Que9bec (for Quebec payroll), and workers' compensation boards (WSIB, CNESST, WCB, etc.).
- Oversee legal third-party payments, including EHT/QHSF, RRSP and DPSP contributions, and court-ordered garnishments.
Benefits Administration
You will help ensure our employees receive an exceptional benefits experience by:
- Administering Beanfield's group benefits programs.
- Managing employee enrolments, changes, and terminations.
- Partnering with benefit providers and brokers to resolve complex issues.
- Supporting annual benefits renewals and employee communications.
ADP Workforce Now Administration
As our in-house ADP expert, you will:
- Serve as the primary administrator for ADP Workforce Now.
- Maintain employee records and organizational structure.
- Configure earnings codes, deductions, workflows, security roles, and system updates.
- Support system enhancements and new module implementations.
- Troubleshoot payroll and system issues.
- Ensure data integrity across all HRIS records.
- Build, generate, and analyze custom ad-hoc and scheduled reports using ADP Custom Reporting to support workforce analytics and financial forecasting.
Continuous Improvement
We are always looking for better ways to work. In this role you will:
- Lead and continuously improve payroll operations.
- Develop payroll procedures and internal controls.
- Maintain payroll calendars and service standards.
- Participate in HR projects including compensation reviews, annual salary increases, bonus administration, and system implementations.
Employee Experience
You will be a trusted resource for our employees by:
- Responding promptly to payroll and benefits inquiries.
- Educating employees on payroll and benefits programs.
- Creating easy-to-understand payroll communications.
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding activities.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive payroll experience.
- Minimum 3 years leading payroll operations.
- Experience administering payroll for 300-1,000 employees.
- Experience with federally regulated employers preferred.
- Strong benefits administration experience.
- Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- National Payroll Institute member.
Technical Skills
Advanced knowledge of:
- ADP Workforce Now.
- Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas).
- Payroll legislation.
- Benefits administration.
- HRIS administration.
- Reporting and analytics.

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. The salary range indicated includes a Short Term Incentive Plan ("STIP") which represents a percentage of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives; The STIP payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures. The STIP payment is conditional upon meeting all of the STIP's eligibility requirements.
