Expected pay for this position is $33.85 - $44.85/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Access Manager is responsible for oversight, planning, directing, and evaluating Patient Access Services metrics and workflows that focus on patient experience, strategy, and trend analysis. The Manager is also responsible for managing, monitoring, and driving improvement in front end Revenue Cycle functions including, but not limited to, payer verification and authorization procurement processes, and upfront patient collections. This position oversees Patient Access Services personnel and functions of one or more of the following; including scheduling, pre-registration, outpatient registration, emergency room registration, inpatient and same day admissions, financial clearance, insurance eligibility, benefits verification, authorization/referral management, payor notification, cash collections, and financial counseling functions. The Patient Access Manager ensures the collection of comprehensive and accurate demographic and financial data to optimize timely billing and collection of accounts receivable, carrying out organizational policies and procedures, and establishing unit goals and objectives. Patient Access Manager demonstrates and holds their team accountable for excellent patient service in order to create an exceptional first impression of OSF's services to the patients, families, and all other parties that OSF interacts with over the phone or in person.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, healthcare management or other related field. or
• Equivalent experience of 5 years in revenue cycle or medical office experience which includes 1 year in a leadership type position

Experience
• One year experience in a team lead, performance improvement, or leadership position.
• Three years experience in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.
• One year direct experience in a healthcare revenue cycle or medical setting.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Required to complete all revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health or Business Administration. Experience
• Nationally recognized Revenue Cycle certification is preferred (NAHAM, AAHAM, HFMA).
