Job Description:

What will you work on?
You will lead a team of packaging engineers to design and develop innovative, structural packaging solutions that align with brand objectives, budget constraints, and manufacturing schedules. This role provides both technical and creative direction, ensuring that our toy packaging utilizes cutting-edge design and materials to stand out on the retail shelf while remaining cost-effective and manufacturable.

How will you create impact?

  • Direct the day-to-day project execution, resource allocation, and workflow prioritization for a team of packaging engineers across multiple brands.

  • Collaborate with Design, Product Development, and Brand teams to translate marketing requirements into highly functional packaging structures.

  • Oversee structural design evaluations to optimize packages for cost-effectiveness, material use (paperboard, corrugate, and vacuum-formed plastics), and supply chain efficiency.

  • Review and approve package structures, and ensure the timely delivery of accurate, manufacturable die-lines for graphic development.

  • Partner with global manufacturing teams to align on production requirements, resolve technical challenges, and ensure on-time, on-spec delivery.

  • Document and maintain all technical packaging files, including manufacturing specifications, assembly instructions, and conceptual drawings.

  • Optimize existing packaging portfolios to drive continuous cost reductions while preserving perceived consumer value and brand equity.


What are your skills and experience?

  • Proven track record of managing, supervising, or leading technical engineering teams within a consumer products environment.

  • Extensive technical knowledge of corrugate, paperboard, blister, and related packaging materials, print production, and manufacturing processes.

  • Advanced technical proficiency using specialized packaging design software, including ArtiosCAD and SolidWorks.

  • Working proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop) for structural coordination.

  • Solid understanding of the end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept to production.

  • Experience in the toy, entertainment, or highly structural consumer goods industry is preferred.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support manufacturing and vendor alignment.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $120,000 to $135,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
