This is a role for a results-driven individual with a 'client-first' mindset, who will take responsibility for targeting, qualifying, and securing business and revenue growth opportunities for multiple technologies across our Energy-as-a-Service business. You will play a key role in identifying new business in the corporate energy transition sector, particularly BESS, Solar PV and EV charging infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone with a strong track record in renewable energy sales or a background in project development who is looking to leverage their industry expertise and relationships to drive business growth. If you have a demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with clients, presenting tailored, value-driven solutions that align with customer needs, we'd love to hear from you.

Senior/Manager, Business Development Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives aligned to our Go-to-Market plan to drive growth and achieve revenue targets for truCurrent.
  • As part of a small team, identify prospects and execute targeted outreach following appropriate research. Perform detailed stakeholder mapping to understand and plot key decision makers' and wider stakeholder pain points, then execute a path to a sale.
  • Takes responsibility for assigned portion of pipeline growth
  • Go-to-Market support and analysis: work with Product & Strategy team to conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential areas for expansion of our Energy-as-a-Service business.
  • Customer relationship management: be a champion for clients through the often long and complex sales process - building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless handover to Client Solutions and Development teams.
  • Take responsibility for truCurrent's CRM system: maintain standards by establishing and enforcing CRM expectations that all prospects and opportunities be correctly recorded and tracked, providing reports to senior management as requested (e.g., to support critical business planning).
  • Lead internal sales and business development meetings with clearly defined objectives and agenda, actions and appropriate follow-up.
  • Manage junior business development team member/s, providing day-to-day guidance, working with sales lead to set targets and track progress towards goals.
  • Communications and proposal development: lead the development of proposals, presentations, and other materials to communicate the value proposition of truCurrent's energy solutions to prospective clients. Work closely with Marketing team to create two-way communication channel leading to continuous improvement of messaging.
  • Negotiation and contracting: provide customer perspective to team in relation to internal analysis; project manage and ensure all relevant parties (internal and external) have provided appropriate input, then participate in the negotiation and finalization of all agreements ensuring 'win-win' solutions.

  • Sales and origination performance monitoring: track and analyze business development metrics, including pipeline growth, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts, and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Process development: develop and manage effective business development processes to ensure customer needs and truCurrent business objectives are met.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer accounts with minimal direction from a Sales Lead.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and well-organized, with a positive attitude. Prior line management experience is a bonus, but not critical; being a team player is non-negotiable.
