Position Summary

The Fund Operations team is seeking a dynamic new leader to bolster our current processes and offerings. This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to lead a growing team, leverage their extensive experience, and add value to our firm in an outsized way.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Responsible for the oversight and strategic leadership of our private and hedge fund operations, consisting of commingled vehicles and direct investments.
Lead and continuously strengthen Brown Advisory’s relationship with fund vendors and custodians with a focus on partnership and ensuring high client service and SLA adherence.
Oversee the execution of all capital activity related to the private fund vehicles – including capital call, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, and all related capital activity.
Evaluate and document end to end workflow and processes for alternative fund operations to build scale, improve service, and position our fund operations to support the growth of the business.
Manage and develop existing fund operations talent – inclusive of three colleagues in Baltimore.
Join and participate in the Firm’s Valuation Committee – organized to reach determinations on fair valuation and compliance with SEC regulations.
Adhere and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for our Funds. Laise and facilitate delivery of accurate regulatory reporting in partnership with our compliance and legal teams.
Participate and lead presentations with our Fund Boards – collection and design of board presentation materials and work closely with business stakeholders to align on messaging.
Oversee and organize the launch, merging, and closing of all funds – work in tight coordination with legal and internal teams to project plan and coordinate all fund activity.
Collect and document enhancement and process related requests from our internal business stakeholders to course future advancements for fund operations.
Execute ad‐hoc projects and strategic initiatives for the business; partner with groups internally including, but not limited to, Private Client, Institutional Sales and Service, Technology and Infrastructure to deliver key results.
Advocate for our clients and firm through contract and service level negotiations with vendors.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Masters/Advanced Degree preferred
8-12 years Fund Operations experience
Experiencing working with alternative funds – Hedge Funds and Private Equity
Vendor contract negotiation experience
Management and creation of vendor service level agreements
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Superior written and oral communication skills
Highly organized and detail‐oriented
Diligent work ethic
Experience working in a team environment
Proactive mentality
Ability to adapt in a positive manner to rapidly changing priorities
Ability to remain calm in a fast paced environment
Ability to handle confidential material with utmost discretion

DC Salary Range: $148.5k – $210k.Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
MD Salary Range: $135k – $200k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
NY Salary Range: $162k - $240k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
