Join UChicago Medicine, as a Manager of Heart and Vascular, Healthcare System. In this leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Heart and Vascular Imaging Center while partnering with physicians, clinical leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. This position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, clinical quality, workforce development, and financial stewardship across imaging services while supporting the organization's strategic initiatives. This 100% onsite position is based in Hyde Park and offers the opportunity to lead high-performing teams dedicated to advancing cardiovascular care.

As the Manager of Heart and Vascular, Healthcare System, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all operational and clinical activities related to Heart and Vascular Imaging services. You will provide leadership for daily operations, staffing, quality improvement, workforce development, financial performance, and patient experience while ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides operational leadership and oversight for Heart and Vascular Imaging services across assigned departments and care sites.
  • Ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through standardized clinical workflows, evidence-based practices, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with physicians, system leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, operational efficiency, and service delivery.
  • Develops and maintains staffing plans based on patient volume, acuity, and operational needs while ensuring appropriate clinical coverage.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Oversees recruitment, onboarding, retention, coaching, performance management, and professional development of staff.
  • Promotes workforce engagement through education, competency validation, orientation, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Monitors quality metrics, patient outcomes, safety indicators, and operational performance while implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety expectations.
  • Serves as a clinical and operational resource, fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Heart and Vascular service line.
  • Participates in organizational committees, strategic planning initiatives, and system-wide leadership activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Current ARDMS credential or Registered Nurse license required, as applicable to discipline.
  • Illinois Registered Nurse license required if licensed as an RN.

  • Demonstrated leadership, operational, financial, and personnel management experience.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
