Osborn Engineering is seeking a Manager of Healthcare for our Pittsburgh Healthcare Group. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of healthcare design experience and client management experience in a consulting engineering environment. This position would be based out of Pittsburgh and report to the Regional Director.
Position Responsibilities:- Leads weekly Healthcare group meetings to discuss production and workshare.
- Attends OEC weekly meetings to discuss production and workshare.
- Resolves department conflicts or issues and distribution of workload.
- Reviews time sheets and ensures accurate reporting of their direct reports' time.
- Forecasts monthly utilization and assists with proposal development.
- Works with the Project Managers throughout the company to provide appropriate resources to successfully execute the projects.
- Will supervise the group in carrying out plans, programs and services as well as provide technical expertise on projects.
- Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including Add Service Agreements.
- Staffing the department which includes developing backlogs and manpower forecast, managing project budgets within the department, working with HR to review resumes/interview candidates, complete and submit new hire documents to IT and assisting with new employee orientations.
- With the help of HR, the manager enforces company procedures and policy and performs annual employee reviews. Assists in the development and support of department philosophy and organizes educational seminars.
- Provides developmental goals for each direct report that are achievable, pertinent to their growth and timely.
- Provide positive team leadership to the Healthcare group to cultivate a professional environment.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:- Must have at a minimum of 10 years of experience focused on engineering and facilities design and/or actively managed the operation and construction of healthcare facilities.
- Must have a strong knowledge and application of NFPA 99, 101 and the most recent version of the Facilities Guideline Institute (FGI) to include ASHRAE 170, Ventilation for Healthcare Facilities.
- Must have strong knowledge and understanding of Joint Commission standards and the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS) for healthcare as it relates to accreditation standards for healthcare owners.
- Strong leadership capabilities in leading a team of highly trained personnel to create a comprehensive, integrated work team to execute excellence in healthcare design, diagnostics, and implementation of strategized solutions.
- On a continuous basis, keep abreast of new technologies, evidence-based design, code developments, energy efficiency strategies, etc., to be a leader in healthcare design.
- Strong ability to instruct staff in project management, project communications and client management.
- Aid in developing a structured mentoring process to aid in the professional development of healthcare engineers and team members to execute excellence in healthcare design.
- Actively participate in Osborn's QA/QC process for design.
- Ability to lead and/or work on several projects concurrently.
