Manager of Customer Insights & Analytics

As a Manager of Customer Insights & Analytics at Dollar Tree’s corporate office, you’ll lead a team of high performing data analysts to deliver customer, category, and performance insights to drive enterprise merchandising and marketing strategies. With your leadership, the organization will leverage relevant data and insights to help uncover whitespace opportunities, improve full-funnel marketing effectiveness, improve customer understanding, and accelerate business growth. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership:

Develop an annual data and analysis calendar and process with cross functional partners to proactively address known business needs while maintaining agility for ad hoc leadership requests.

Serve as a strategic thought partner to cross functional partners, translating complex data and insights into clear, and actionable decisions.

Help uncover enterprise-wide insights for quarterly deep dives, board of director updates, category performance reviews, voice-of-the-customer initiatives, and monthly customer sentiment reporting.

Leverage deep business and customer knowledge to proactively recommend strategies to drive incremental trips, sales, and long-term growth.

Set analyst team weekly priorities to ensure a priority focus and to maximize data and insights for decision making needed to accelerate business growth.

Own the overall monthly and annual budgeting process to ensure we have sufficient funds to deliver on both merchandising and marketing data and insights needs.

Data, Analytics & Supplier Management:

Leverage syndicated data sources such as Nielsen, Circana and Numerator, along with internal data and qualitative research to uncover actionable insights to drive category growth and customer relevance.

Proactively provide key merchandising partners with data and insights to inform decisions across key retail categories including white space assortment opportunities.

Own the creation and automation of daily and weekly reporting tools to inform decision making.

Help lead all external data and analytics supplier relationships, including Nielsen, Numerator, Circana, 1010, Epsilon, and Big Chalk.

Help manage supplier contracts, work plans, and deliverables to ensure contractual obligations are met and value is maximized.

Champion the development and use of automated tools and dashboards to streamline data and insights delivery.

Routinely help provide CMO and Director with relevant information to update and inform senior leaders in preparation for earnings calls, board meetings, and investor days.

Stay current on insights and analytics industry trends and proactively evaluate new data sources and tools to enhance enterprise knowledge and capabilities.

Customer & Marketing Insights:

Lead the continuous development and optimization of our customer segmentation strategy to drive personalized marketing and improve customer engagement. Proactively collaborate and share with marketing to ensure insights are embedded into campaign planning, messaging, and audience targeting.

Lead quarterly customer qualitative research to deepen customer understanding and inform merchandising and marketing strategies.

Lead annual marketing mix modeling and brand health measurement initiatives in partnership with Big Chalk.

Improve marketing effectiveness through actionable insights derived from syndicated data, internal analytics, and customer research.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2-3 direct analyst reports, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, innovation, rigor, and continuous improvement.

Ensure all insights requests are delivered on time and within the approved annual budget, including monthly budget tracking and reporting.

Establish a regular cadence of training and insight sharing to elevate data literacy across the broader organization.

Your Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in customer insights, analytics, or data analysis across brands or retailers

2+ years of leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to develop and retain high performing teams

Expertise in merchandising and marketing data, including hands-on experience with syndicated data partners and retailer-facing dashboards

Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize large, complex data sets into logical conclusions and actionable recommendations

Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions including merchandising, marketing, and assortment planning.

Experience managing external suppliers and agency partners with an ownership mindset to drive innovation and incremental value

Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization

Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, manage expectations, and communicate insights clearly across the enterprise

Previous managerial experience to include performance reviews and employee development.

Experience managing concurrent projects and setting annual goals for the team.

Track record of sound judgment and strong leadership

Preferred Requirements:

MBA or advanced degree

Experience supporting both retail merchandising and full-funnel marketing analytics

Demonstrated passion for staying current with insights, analytics, and data innovation trends

Start Rate = $126,000-138,000 based on experience plus 20% bonus and equity.
