Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager, NPI Process Excellence to play a critical leadership role in enabling efficient, scalable, and predictable New Product Introduction (NPI) across the Biosciences Reagents & Assays portfolio.

This role focuses on end-to-end process clarity, standardization, and continuous improvement, ensuring NPI workflows support increasing product volume and complexity across Research and Clinical Reagents. The Staff Engineer partners closely with cross-functional Product Development teams, Enterprise IT, the Transformation Office (Innovation Excellence), and to define, analyze, and improve NPI processes aligned with enterprise standards and enabling systems.

This position requires strong facilitation skills, a systems mindset, and the ability to influence execution through process excellence in a matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End NPI Process Excellence
  • Define, map, and maintain end-to-end NPI processes spanning Research and Clinical Reagents.
  • Establish clear process flows, handoffs, decision points, and ownership across cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure processes are designed to support speed, scalability, and repeatability in high-volume NPI environments.


Process Improvement & Structured Problem Solving
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts to improve NPI flow and execution consistency.
  • Facilitate process improvement workshops and Kaizen events, driving practical, data-driven outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce variation, and enhance execution predictability.


Enterprise Alignment & Innovation Excellence
  • Partner with the Transformation Office to apply Innovation Excellence principles and tools to NPI processes.
  • Support alignment with enterprise process frameworks while ensuring usability for reagent-specific workflows.
  • Contribute to process maturity and capability building within the segment.


Systems Enablement Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Enterprise IT, Business Systems, and Integration Leads to ensure NPI processes are effectively enabled by systems and data.
  • Provide process input into business and user requirements supporting system enhancements and deployments.
  • Support UAT readiness by ensuring process clarity and alignment with intended system use.


Cross-Functional Facilitation & Influence
  • Act as a neutral facilitator across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders through fact-based analysis and clear process definition.
  • Communicate risks, insights, and recommendations clearly to technical and business leaders.


Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering, operational excellence, program execution, or related roles within life sciences, diagnostics, medical devices, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working across end-to-end product development or NPI processes.
  • Demonstrated success operating in cross-functional, matrixed organizations.


Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong process mapping, facilitation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, Kaizen, or structured problem-solving initiatives.
  • Ability to think end-to-end across functional and system boundaries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity while delivering structured outcomes.


Preferred Experience
  • Experience in reagents, assays, diagnostics, or clinical product development.
  • Familiarity with Innovation Excellence, Lean, or similar methodologies.
  • Exposure to regulated environments and Design Control concepts.
  • Experience collaborating with IT teams on process-enabled system improvements.
