Objective/Purpose:
  • Provide program management leadership in support of complex Medical programs (asset-level), ensuring that agreed strategies are translated into well-structured, executable plans with clear milestones, deliverables, and accountabilities.
  • Partner with Medical and cross-functional teams to execute established program plans, supporting alignment, coordination, and effective delivery across functions and regions.
  • Strengthen program execution discipline by maintaining robust milestone tracking, dependency management, risk identification, and issue escalation within assigned scope.
  • Apply Medical PMO standards and tools to support consistent, transparent execution practices, contributing to improved delivery predictability and visibility.


Scope:
  • Support end-to-end execution of assigned Medical programs, maintaining integrated plans, tracking progress against milestones, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional contributors.
  • Translate program strategy and priorities into detailed workplans and actionable activities, working with functional teams to ensure clarity of roles, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provide regular, structured program updates, consolidating inputs on milestones, risks, dependencies, and progress into clear and accurate reporting for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate program governance meetings and working teams, ensuring effective preparation, clear agendas, documentation of decisions, and follow-through on actions.
  • Identify, track, and manage program-level risks and issues, working with team members to develop mitigation plans and escalating appropriately when needed.
  • Support program prioritization and re-planning activities, helping teams adapt to changes in timelines, resources, or strategic direction while maintaining delivery momentum.
  • Track and consolidate program-level budget and resource information, supporting visibility and coordination with Finance and functional partners.
  • Build strong working relationships across functions to enable coordination, problem-solving, and timely delivery of program objectives.
  • Contribute to PMO capability by adopting standardized tools, templates, and processes, and identifying opportunities for incremental improvements in execution.
  • Model Takeda values and support a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement in program delivery.


Education, Behavioral Competencies and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or other regulated environments, including demonstrated leadership of complex global programs at the asset level.
  • Proven experience partnering with Medical and cross-functional leaders to translate strategy into executable program plans and guide key program-level decisions in matrixed organizations.
  • PMP, Agile, change management certification, or comparable project/program management credentials preferred.
  • Strategic program execution: translates asset and TA priorities into actionable delivery plans, governance structures, and program control mechanisms that enable effective execution.
  • Program-level insight and integration: identifies dependencies, trade-offs, and execution risks within and across programs, ensuring alignment and proactive mitigation.
  • Leadership communication: synthesizes program status, risks, implications, and recommendations into clear, structured, and leadership-ready communications.
  • Stakeholder influence: builds alignment across cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive execution, facilitate decisions, and maintain focus on delivery outcomes.
  • PMO contribution and team development: applies and reinforces PMO standards and contributes to advancing consistent, data-enabled execution practices across programs.
  • Digital enablement mindset for PMO: Demonstrates a working awareness of digital tools and process improvements, and supports efficient PMO execution through basic use of technology and data

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$116,000.00 - $182,270.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
