Manager, Market Development - Phoenix

NOW CFO is seeking a Manager, Market Development to lead relationship-driven growth across the Phoenix market. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role with a strong emphasis on in-person engagement throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission, health benefits, and a 401(k).

The ideal candidate brings deep ties to the Phoenix business community, strong business and financial acumen, and a proven track record of developing opportunities through networking, referrals, strategic partnerships, and direct outreach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead market development across the Phoenix metropolitan area, generating new business through prospecting, referrals, networking, LinkedIn, and community involvement.
  • Build trusted relationships with business owners, C-suite executives, investors, and other key decision-makers.
  • Develop referral partnerships with CPA firms, banks, private equity firms, law firms, and other professional service organizations.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospective clients' operational, accounting, and financial challenges, then qualify opportunities and connect them with NOW CFO's Directors for scoping and proposals.
  • Maintain momentum through the sales cycle and support a smooth handoff into service delivery.
  • Plan, host, and attend networking events and community activities that strengthen NOW CFO's visibility in Phoenix.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and referral partners that generate repeat business and continued market growth.
  • Keep CRM records, pipeline data, and forecasts accurate and current.
  • Collaborate with the Phoenix Market President, Directors, consultants, and the broader regional leadership team.

Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of proven success in business development, relationship management, consultative sales, or advisory services, ideally within professional services, accounting, finance, or a related relationship-driven field.
  • An established professional network in the Phoenix metro area and strong knowledge of the local business community and its key organizations.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with business owners and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Strong business acumen, financial literacy, and the ability to understand complex organizational needs.
  • Polished communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a consultative approach that builds credibility quickly.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with consistent follow-up and pipeline management.
  • Comfortable with CRM platforms, LinkedIn, Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and related technology.
  • Resilient and motivated through longer, relationship-based sales cycles.
  • Able to travel throughout the Phoenix area for meetings, events, and client interactions.

Preferred Experience
  • Selling accounting, finance, consulting, advisory, or other high-value professional services.
  • Developing referral relationships with CPA firms, banks, private equity firms, attorneys, or other Centers of Influence.
  • Planning, hosting, or leading professional networking events.
  • An active, credible presence on LinkedIn.
  • Experience with a national or regional accounting, advisory, or consulting firm.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
