You need (essential for the job) Applied / assessed at a later date EDUCATION:
Stream 1: TI-08 Marine:
Candidates must possess at least one of the following:
1: Post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution in naval architecture or related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
2: Post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution in electrical engineering/technology or related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
3: Secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience; AND possession of a Canadian certificate of competency as a Master, Near Coastal or higher.
4: Secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience; AND possession of a Canadian certificate of competency as Second-class Engineer (Motor Ship or Steamship) or higher.
Stream 2: TI-08 General:
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position

EXPERIENCE:
Stream 1 and Stream 2:
EX1: Significant* experience working in collaboration with partners such as other federal departments, provincial authorities, private industry, or Indigenous groups, etc.
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over a period of at least 3 years.
EX2: Experience in preparing a variety of written material such as recommendations, reports, or briefing materials.
Stream 1 - TI-08 Marine:
EX3: Experience in one (1) or more of the following:
1. Experience in ship design, construction, repairs, operation, inspection, quality assurance or other marine related areas.
2. Experience in technical or operational management of ships.
3. Experience as master or chief mate on ships.
4. Experience as chief or second engineer.
Stream 2 - TI-08 General:
EX4: Experience working on marine transportation-related initiatives.
